Absolute best vegan meal I’ve had in AGES! I got the vegan ladkes, vegan baklava, vegan tiramisu and coconut cake, tofu bbq wrap, vegan Mac, and falafel sandwich to go! Staff and community who frequent it are an absolute delight and we felt extremely welcome.

I have NEVER been disapponted having a meal here! I went in on a Lenten Friday, needing a quick lunch but meat free- before I could look at the menu they had recommended the BBQ tofu wrap and Sweet Potato soup. I agreed and my goodness it blew me away. Who knew tofu could be delicious!?! 5 stars. Already can’t wait to go back. Thank you all for being a haven of homemade deliciousness in a sea of McDonald’s.

First time trying this restaurant, I’m new to the area. My turkey Ruben is burnt and black, it smells awful. Completely inedible. I ordered from Uber eats and the won’t do anything about it. The french toast looks really good though but that sandwich is unacceptable, it smells really burnt to the point my kitchen stinks bad.

I don’t live locally that’s why I used Uber eats. It wasn’t there bad management that was the issue it was that my sandwich was black as tar. That should’ve never been served to anyone! I dont appreciate how you are trying to blame me for not calling your restaurant instead of Uber eats. How about you not serve completely burnt and blacked food to your customers.

This amazing place should be an Indiana/ tourist go to spot. The food was absolutely amazing. I tried two things I never would have tried if the awesome staff didn’t tell me try it. The BBQ tofu sandwich (GF Vegetarian) and the South African Sweet Potato Soup made me melt and fly away. I wanted to go back and ask for a vat of that soup and BBQ sauce and to take Moma home with me. The service was wonderful, they made me feel like family. I love this place so much, I plan to take my family back with me next time and the 1 1/2 drive is totally worth it. They also have fresh bread, fresh bakery items and a lot of options for special diets, like vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, kosher, etc. It’s truly an amazing experience and it’s a lil Mom (who is an actual Rabbi (even more amazing)) and her two daughters. Show up hungry and leave extra stuffed and feeling like you have a new family.
I took some of the soup home for my husband and he agreed, it’s like a hug for your soul. 100+/10 would recommend stopping in.

PS I ate everything too quickly to even think about taking a picture but next time I will update with pics.

Do what is best for your soul and stomach and go visit this place.

If you’re a “foodie”, I recommend this restaurant! If you appreciate great cultural conversations, I recommend this restaurant!
The food was exciting and delicious, not at all average!
Choices overwhelming!
All family run. Just fun.
I have gluten, dairy, bean and cruciferous food intolerance.
They have a dedicated space for gluten free food preparation. All their special food advertising is on their “about” tab.
As mentioned in other reviews, it is an old building and its appearance and neighborhood don’t do it justice. The sign outside is misleading but costly to replace, so it remains.
This is a real pearl, a treasure contained in an unattractive surround.

My sister and I ate here while traveling and it was a highlight of our trip. Everything about the experience was wonderful. My vegetarian sister and says her omelette was the best of her life! I had French toast made from banana bread. I didn’t know this when I ordered as I would never choose banana bread, but it was fantastic. Leah, her Mom and family made us and our dogs feel welcome and a part of their family. A truly unique experience. I wish they were in Austin, TX, I would eat there every week!

Gosh the food here is good. As someone with severe food allergies I’d drive (and have driven) a long distance for some good gluten free fare, I’m lucky that we happened upon Oy Vey by chance on our way home. I had the breakfast sandwich with a side of the butter/syrup- so delicious. Everyone working there was so kind and helpful. I would and definitely will again go out of my way to make another stop here for more great GF food!

My family and I got takeout from here while traveling through town and it was delicious! The kids meals were awesome, portions were generous and the people were friendly too. I will definitely come back if I ever find myself in town again. We had Falafel, the healthy bowl with chicken, chicken schnitzel, kids pasta with mushroom sauce and a Vegan wrap. All in all cost around 50 bucks for a ton of food (two big bags) They were all outstanding! Thank you again!

We had an absolutely wonderful meal here. Some of the best vegan food we’ve ever had (special shout out to the vegan turkey sandwich and the French toast). The family that runs the restaurant was so nice and friendly. We can’t wait to go back next time we are in the area.
