We ordered the OMMM Salad, Dalandan juice, Dan dan Dumplings, Cuapao ni Cristina. Burnt Cabbage, Black Pepper Crab Noodles, Unagi Kabayaki, Bistek Short Ribs, Tamarind Chicken Inasal, Braso de Mercedes and Buko Pie. They were all very good and tasty. We loved it. Worth the drive.

Kumba Restaurant offers a very pleasant dining experience. The service was genuinely good staff were attentive, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit.

The restaurant ambience is warm and relaxing, making it a nice place to dine and unwind. The food overall was tasty and well-prepared, which we truly enjoyed.

However, the dessert portion felt quite small for the price. It would be better if the dessert serving were more generous to better match its value.

Overall, it’s a good restaurant with great service and ambience, and with a bit more generosity on dessert portions, the experience would be even better.

A Michelin-recognized destination that is absolutely worth the drive

Kumba was a deliberate destination for me — I drove all the way to Parañaque specifically to try this Michelin-recognized restaurant. After the meal, I can confidently say: it was worth the detour.

The food here is excellent, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying — refined without being intimidating.

The standout for me was the burnt cabbage. I’ve tried versions of this dish at Kubri in Paris and Claudette in Singapore, both excellent in their own right — but Chef Tina’s version at Kumba is the best so far. It’s clean, precise, and beautifully balanced. The char is confident but never bitter, the seasoning restrained yet expressive, and the dish feels complete without excess. It’s a perfect example of how simplicity, when executed at a high level, can be extraordinary.

The steamed grouper is another must-order. Delicate, fresh, and expertly cooked, it highlights the natural quality of the fish. The flavors are clear and respectful — nothing masks the main ingredient, and everything on the plate feels intentional.

Dessert did not disappoint either. The buko pie is comforting yet elevated, familiar but refined. It’s the kind of dessert that leaves a lasting impression — not because it’s flashy, but because it’s so well done.

Overall, the menu reflects confidence and clarity. Each dish feels purposeful, and there’s a sense that the kitchen knows exactly what it wants to say.

Service was warm and polished, but what made the experience more special was meeting Chef Tina, who was friendly, accommodating, and generous with her time. That personal interaction added another layer to the visit and reinforced the care and passion behind the food.

You can feel that this is a place run by people who genuinely care about what they’re putting on the table.

The space is beautifully designed — relaxed, elegant, and comfortable. It feels special without being stiff, making it suitable for both a thoughtful solo lunch or a more celebratory meal. The overall ambiance encourages you to slow down and enjoy the experience.

A very practical plus: lots of free parking, which makes the drive to Parañaque far less daunting and adds to the overall ease of the visit.

Kumba is a restaurant I would gladly go out of my way for again. The food is refined, confident, and memorable; the space is welcoming; and the hospitality is genuine. After this visit, it’s clear that there’s still more of the menu worth exploring.

I’ll definitely be back to try the other dishes — and that, to me, is the strongest endorsement of all.

Highly recommended.

Food is ok, service and ambience were great. The menu is a bit mixed. Some of the menu items we ordered didnt make sense to me, i’ll just review them individually, I forgot the name of some of the items.
– salmon gohan with sake butter cream: the Sake didnt do anything for the butter cream. The salmon skin was gummy and hard to eat. Salmon doesn’t taste like its seasoned
– garlic breaded porkchop: too greasy, chutney too sweet, both sauces didnt do anything to elevate the pork chop, i cant recall the other sauce, seems like a green curry.
– squid ink noodle with crab: this is the only one I liked, but even this item doesn’t make it worth coming back to this place
– Grilled mushroom: this one is also nice but too pricey. Feels like you’re eating isaw but its mushroom

My biggest issue also is the accessibility of the place. If you’re coming from alabang, you have to leave ID at the subdivision gate and exit is too traffic. Parking space is also limited.

New places like these in BF really make me excited. They make the food scene here brighter, and that’s quite evident with the Michelin Bib Gourmand award. I just find myself drawn to Asian fusion restos and they did that theme perfectly here.

We first got the Dandan Dumplings, which I thought would have a Sichuan vibe given the name, but it was more of a Japanese Malaysian flavor fusion with the peanut-based sauce. The duck fillings were definitely flavorful but not as juicy as I would have liked it to be.

For our mains, we got the pinalabok na pansit, the inasal and the porkchop.

The pinalabok is a cool dish, a more mellow take from our classic palabok. It’s flavorful and complex, has a nice balance of acidity and savory. I also love its texture.

The inasal is amazing. It has a pate-like sauce on top which complements the salty-acidic glaze. Just lovely.

Lastly, I didn’t expect much from the porkchop, but it was good too! It had the good amount of thinness and the crisp was perfect. It’s moderately peppery with sauces that complement it. I’m partial towards the green sauce but the mango chutney works too as a palate cleanser. It also has pleasantly bitter garlic bits.

Overall, our experience here at Kumba was great and we’re happy a good resto chose its home in BF.

Kumba PH offers comforting flavors with a modern, thoughtful approach. Nothing feels rushed or overly complicated—just well-executed food that you can enjoy slowly. Perfect for a relaxed meal when you want something a little elevated but still familiar.

THEY DESERVE THE MICHELIN! I’ve no words except good ones only!! I still dream of their kataifi salad and burnt cabbage. It was my tita’s bday and they heard us singing a little. We were surprised they made a grand bday greeting with complimentary cake. 1000000% recommended!!

Kumba has some excellent intense flavors right in BF homes, the noodles with the green curry are really good, as is the grilled broccoli salad, we also tried an off-menu item, the burnt cabbage and it was really good!
