They all get there food premade from the same place nowadays. A little sad. If you have a strong stomach and don’t mind the food not being held at proper temps its average fare for a little above average price because of the ideal location. I do love the crispiness of the fried chicken. Also love the dessert shelves not the desserts though.

Hubby and I have been wanting to try this place so we came for lunch/dinner time. This staff here are super friendly, food is amazing!!! Definitely coming back, we use to go to blue springs to the Legends of Asia. We no longer go there, staff aren’t friendly like this buffet plus the food and sushi is way better at the Golden Apple Buffet. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but so worth it. I highly recommend giving this place a try you will not be disappointed.

When we went to the restaurant, it was around 4 in the afternoon on a Friday. I was anticipating a large crowd, but it wasn’t very busy yet. The food at that time was fresh. From the buffet area, we can see one of the chefs/cooks grilling the meat. The baked lobsters are also freshly put on the serving tray and steaming hot. Although I am limited to what I can eat, they offer a wide variety of cuisine. With the kind of diet I have, I still walked out of Golden Apple Buffet Restaurant feeling full. My favorite was the peppered chicken thighs. It was cooked just right. The restaurant had grilled steak, baked lobsters, pizza, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, various shrimp dishes, beef and broccoli, crab Rangoon, egg rolls, fries, and a lot more. They had crabs, cocktail shrimp, and mussels all on ice. They had a selection of sushi, fruits, and dessert. In the end, there’s a mini deep freezer with multiple flavors of ice cream cups. There’s a lot more.
The staff was friendly. Our waiter (young gentleman) was attentive on taking the plates off the table.
The only thing that we didn’t like was that there’s a lot of seating available, but we were put close to the bathroom. Overall, it seems worth giving another try.

We came as a family of 5 upon seeing the food we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat the food. The kids of course ate and didn’t complain too much but we didn’t not do to the condition of the food. Came at 7pm and food was dried out or empty and oddly colored. Paid $65 for my kids 11, 9, 5 to eat basically just the pizza and some ice cream because nothing else was actually appealing. Oh and our drinks. I’d rather eat Chinese food in the hood of Kansas City, Missouri !!
Also bathroom was gross and flooding toilets while staff sitting on phones doing nothing.

I guess I’ll be the male Karen, I quite often do not get my water refilled at least seven times now and one time they did not even give me a water the whole time I was in the restaurant eating I have literally begged them to do better with their service as kindly as I could not speaking loud and making any kind of a scene. It seems like they only do this when I Come straight from work in my dirty construction work clothes, which leads me to believe there is a narrative of some sort, like I’m not worthy of service because I don’t have a white collar job. I work outside in the freezing cold and the blistering heat. My money is just as good as the next men’s I feel like I deserve the same kind of service. But when I come after church and I’m wearing my Sunday best, I get the same service as anyone else smh do better guys

PROs: Great location. Price is right. Plenty of parking. Indoor seatings only. Friendly staff. Staff are quick to clear off plates from your table and refill drinks. Cleanliness was fair. Plenty of food set out. Sushi was good & attendant was presently rolling sushi, and they were kept chilled. Desserts (not pictured) are kept in enclosed display next to salad bar.
CONs: Building facade is plain and uninviting, at 1st glance it reminded me of Golden Corral.
Golden Apple is better than Taste of Asia (ok establishment) and Mama’s Buffet (unclean place).
We attended after lunch to check out the hype. This is an ideal place to bring your family and they can choose from American, Asian, Seafood, and /or Mexican food all in one place. I appreciated seeing food attendants maintaining food and cleanliness.

My husband and I came for a weeknight dinner, $20 per person. We spend $18 a person at Culver’s for a single burger and curds!
Food was delicious, huge variety. Large selection of sushi, everything was fresh and chilled. They had crab legs and whole crabs (we didn’t try them). Our favorite was the ribeye with green beans but everything we tried was delicious. Large selection of fruit and desserts, baby loved it! Servers were pleasant and refilled our waters several times.

This is a decent buffet. Comments about being overpriced are unfortunate because you get to eat unlimited plates of good fresh quality food including sushi/sashimi, at $15 (lunch) or $21(dinner) is an amazing deal. I agree some people think the food temperature was a bit on the lukewarm side, I purposely dish out a steaming plate of food, but by the time you finish going around the entire buffet options and sit down, the food on your plate may not be as steaming anymore . So if you want hot food, get one dish and go straight to your seat and eat it straight away.
A good tip on getting hotter temp is to stir the food around if it’s something that can be moved around, like a pan of coconut shrimp or soup, get the portion at the bottom because whatever is sitting on top will be cooler and not touching the steam table at the bottom.
Overall, the service was very attentive, our server was from Bali/Indonesia and he was very friendly and cleared all our empty plates constantly. We also saw him check on all the nearby tables nonstop.
The only reason it didn’t get the final star is because there was no lobster tails option during weekend dinner as advertised. Nevertheless,
if you’re poofed out from shopping at the Legends, or need a Chinese buffet fix, and starving, this buffet might be a good place to pig out.

First time trying this new addition to the Legends area. We went on a Sunday, so the large crowd was to be expected…but they have more than ample seating and in a variety of areas so it feels like you are dining in a somewhat secluded area…we ate on the climate controlled patio. Since it was a Sunday so they offered both ribeye and crab…that does make the price a little higher… the selection is wide and very delicious. There is also a wide variety of sushi and a small salad bar…not to mention plenty of fruit and dessert options.

Try out Golden Apple Buffet in KCK the other day. Love the cold stone crabs, ribeyes steak and salty beefs. Sushi and the rest of the dishes was ok. Lot of options for dessert. Overall pretty satisfied with both time I went there. The only things that I didn’t like was the second time I went there, they gave us the bills for our table while we were still eating. Make us feel like they want to kick us out.
