The food was definitely edible, and worth the money. Me and my bf went to a park and enjoyed filling our bellies with warm gumbo and pastalaya. Service wasn’t bad at all, but it also wasn’t anything memorable. You know, the average ‘on the phone when not serving customers’ and being given the least amount of conversation when interacting with said customers. Though, I believe the pretty lady at the front counter was just doing what she is told so none of this reflects onto her as a person/worker. This all reflects onto the management and ownership. But I felt as though i was putting in 99% efforts in creating a hospitable atmosphere, when im already the one giving my time and money. That in itself kind of made the whole vibe tense/awkward, so I just wanted to get my stuff and go. When given my product, i noticed the packaging was a little risky. Everything was in cheap styrofoam containers, topped with thin, brittle plastic container lids. And just to add a little more jazz to the mess, all of these containers were stacked onto one another (gumbo at the bottom), in a PAPER bag !! This lead to the gumbo lid cracking, and spilling into the paper bag. And you can only imagine where that went …… yeah no i was pissed. Please work on enhancing yalls packaging because the paper bag was a pile of atoms by the time we got to our destination, my car smelled like meat, and half of the product was gone before we could enjoy it. I try to keep a level headed view on stuff like this, holding awareness of the world losing hospitality but I mean come on guys If y’all want gonzales to stay the best jambalaya spot, please make it THE BEST jambalaya spot.

The food here was good. I got the Shoppe #1 with the meat pies and gumbo. The gumbo was ok but the cayenne pepper does overpowering it. The jambalaya was okay. The salad that came with it was really small and just your basic stuff. The meat pies were the small ones you can get from Rouses and they were cold when I ate them. The pricing was a little bit on the expensive side. The online menu prices were incorrect. Still a good place to go.

DO NOT EAT THE POTATO SALAD, this place has always had just basic tasting jambalaya, nothing fancy, but man I ordered the potato salad and it tasted a little off, figured it just wasn’t a quality one since the jambalaya never blows me away, so I continued to eat it. Anyway I’m going on day 5 of food poisoning, 3 trips to urgent care, 3 different types of medicine, and an amount of pain that would make you wanna sue a place for pain in suffering. In other words find somewhere else, took 30 mins of my lunch break just to get my food too.

First time trying The Jambalaya Shoppe and I will return to get the gumbo, it had good flavor and was loaded with meat! The jambalaya I wish that it had the same flavor as the gumbo, but it did not. It was very bland and not much meat, the rice was a little mushy. The employee was super sweet and very friendly! I found a nice surprised in the bag, it was a cup of chocolate pudding dessert that was not expecting so that was a pleasant surprise and was delicious! Thank you so much!

Friendly workers. But They certainly do not give you much for jambalaya $9. Rice was very mushy and bland. Nothing special. Chicken extremely dry with zero flavor. Sausage wasn’t very good, probably a cheap brand. Plus, $7 Potato salad wasn’t worth it. Potato salad used to be fantastic but apparently they changed their recipe…now it has no pickles, lacks salt and has a very funky almost spoiled garbage-tasting flavor. We will not be returning.

We visited the Jambalaya Shoppe in Gonzales on Sunday, November 2nd, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We specifically went for the gumbo, but they were completely out. The staff at the counter during lunch were not friendly or helpful, which made the visit even more frustrating.
Additionally, the men’s restroom had visible black mold on the ceiling, something that definitely needs attention.
Between the lack of customer service, being out of a signature menu item, and the poor facility condition, our visit was quite unsatisfactory. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements, as the Jambalaya Shoppe usually has great food and potential for better customer experiences.

Ordered a good bit of food for a football game tailgate which clearly stated on the website menu that utensils, serving spoon and plates were included. Well, don’t Heyyou know that when arrived there was food only. Would not have been a big deal if a tailgate wasn’t involved. This food was ordered from the Gonzales jambalaya shoppe. You people need to take down things that are on your menu that you do not offer.

Had to take a grandson to urgent care and everyone was hungry. No one wanted McDonald’s or any of those places so we stopped here. Went in , ordered even though the boys were very unfriendly we ordered. $33.00 and 10 minutes we got our 3 chicken jambalaya, white beans and what they called potato salad. My youngest grandson opened his and refused to even try it because it was a ball of mush! The oldest had a few bites of the jambalaya and he ate the beans but that potato salad was ! I had 2 very small pieces of chicken in mine and potato salad was as well!
Was really good a couple of years back , what happened? I don’t see how someone hasn’t gotten really sick especially from that raunchy soupy potato salad. Jambalaya was nothing but mush! Very very disappointed!

Walked in to place my order, first problem was the employee clearly stated to the other Employee they forgot to make tea so I guess nobody drinks tea today because they forgot and apparently it’s too late since they just opened to make tea.
I get my order, and I noticed that my gumbo is literally juice and a piece of sausage floating at the top, also my rice was slightly dried due to being used over again from yesterday, the lettuce was brown, I even asked other customers what their lettuce looks like, and it was all the same color. It was brown.
