The beef selection is fairly extensive, but personally I didn’t find the quality quite matched the price. Nothing particularly wrong, just… not that memorable.
That said, the cold starters were unexpectedly good.
The Bluefin Tuna Tataki was clean, lightly seared, and well-balanced with citrusy dressing and fresh garnishes.
Wagyu & Sea Urchin with Black Truffle Sauce was probably the best thing we had — rich, savoury, and unapologetically over-the-top (in a good way). A true one-bite luxury.
The space itself is clean and comfortable, but the lighting felt overly bright for an evening grill experience — I would’ve liked a bit more warmth or atmosphere. Service was polite but very minimal — they won’t really explain the menu or check in much once seated.
Overall: Not bad, just not quite enough to justify the price if you’re going mainly for the yakiniku. But I would come back for the small plates and a more casual visit.
1. The meat quality is excellent. I ordered wagyu and it was incredibly tender and flavourful. The thick-cut beef tongue was easily better than 90% of restaurants in the same price range.
2. Great location with genuinely comfortable seating, which is rare for central London.
3. When it’s not busy, the staff will grill for you. In my case, they handled the grilling the entire time — super attentive and made the experience effortless.
4. The sushi and sashimi were also impressive, far superior in quality compared to most Japanese chain restaurants in London.
Overall: If you want to spend £50–70 per person for a solid Japanese meal, I highly recommend coming here. The flavours are fantastic!
The food was delicious! The Sukiyaki prepared right in front of us!
The meat and vegetables were tasty and fresh.
The one who helped us was very kind and patient, he also taught us a thing or two about the Yakiniku and Sukiyaki and with that why a Japanese house had the layout they had back in the day.
After the Sukiyaki we decided to go for the Yakiniku, tried some new pieces of meat and the way it was explained how to grill it on the charcoal was really well done. Meat created the way we wanted and after we had the chance to do it ourselves.
Everything put together I can say this went way beyond our expectations, so we are sure to return again next time!
