A relative told me to come and try this place. But, unfortunately, as much as the customer service was excellent, I couldn’t say the same about the food.
I loved the churro dessert and the corn side dish. Everything else was MEH. The chicken and beef tacos were presentable but not tasty. And so was the fajita. The whole meal was bland and I’m a little surprised at how others have rated this place highly but to each his/her own.

I’m a regular here, including ordering take out during the pandemic. 1st time dining inside since the closure. Food was delicious but sadden by them not offering chips and salsa when we sat down. From the waiter, they apparently are cutting cost by charging for chips. I would’ve thought they’d want to cherish their customers patronage by not taking such a treat away. Understand it may be economical, but I’m still a little disappointed. As I said, food and drinks were delicious !

Had fantastic service here with a great waiter who was the perfect mix of charm and not rushing us. Also, the food was unique and very tasty. I had the tostada salad and free chips on the house. I wouldn’t mind trying this Caesar salad here next time.

Summary: The best Mexican food restaurant you can find in the Burlingame, San Mateo, Foster City area. Overall impressions were that the food was excellent, the drinks were good, the service was average, and the seating was average. If your primary concern is good food and good drinks, this is a must visit restaurant.
The Drinks:
They have a great variety of drinks that taste authentic, not watered down, and don’t have a ton of sugar. I recommend the Jalapeno margarita. They also have a good selection of tequilas.
The Food:
I am very picky with enchiladas, but Sixtos KNOCKED it out of the park with this one. If you like “Mole”, which is a Mexican dark chocolate/chili sauce, then do yourself a favor and order the Chicken Enchiladas with Mole Sauce (pictures attached). The chips and salsa are also great. You have to pay for them, but this is COVID. Make sure you order the 3 additional salsas which are a combo of pineapple, chipotle, and jalapeno based. The food here is highly recommended. It’s expensive but we believe it is worth it for the area.
The Service:
The staff is very busy and during COVID, it’s hard. You may have to wait a while to be seated and/or served. However, the circumstances dictate most of this. We can’t knock a star due to county regulations. Outdoor seating is limited, but we felt safe the whole time.
In conclusion, this is a great place to visit at least once to try the food. It may be your new favorite spot in the area. We will be returning.

I should have followed my first impression. Upon entering the lady at the counter greeted me by saying “ Can I help you with something?” I just walked in a restaurant entrance Perhaps saying “ Welcome , Do you have a reservation? Would you like to be placed on a waiting list?” Instead of leaving I asked can I order to go? Do to me working in the area during dinner hours I stayed. Placed my order. She immediately brought me the check without asking any questions, making any suggestions. As I waited I read the story of the restauranteurs and chef. I was excited to try this cuisine. My food arrived. Again she was brash and rude. She even spoke to the staff as if they were her children stating” What are you guys supposed to be doing? “ in demeaning tone. Meredith must be related to the owners. Oh does that meat look well -done? Additionally the steak was burnt and oily, tasted like lighter fluid. I’m so disappointed every time I pass this place I want to stand in front like days of old warning patrons of the illusion. So much more could be said…

My wife and I had waited for months to finally dine in at sixtos. The whole service experience was an absolute disaster though. They served the incorrect omelette, did not provide plates on time. Failed to provide the coffee I ordered only until after we had finished the meal. The worst part of this experience was when we asked for service help several times, they took their sweet time and didn’t put any concern or focus on our stressful experience. Even the manager avoided eye contact on our table only until we requested that we speak to her about the experience and how unpleasant it was.
Asides from that the food here is good. I do recommend the cinnamon churro pancakes for brunch. I will likely DoorDash it in the future should I want to try their food again.

GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE for a party of 10 on a Saturday night. We were seated 20 min before our reservation time and were treated to delicious authentic Mexican food. The chips kept coming to scoop up the amazing guacamole, Queso, and salsa. Everyone had a different meal and all raved about how good the food was. We also ordered a couple of bottles of margaritas which easily served our party. We will definitely visit again and again.

Fantastic food and experience! Our server was incredibly sweet and made me feel like I was back home getting an amazing home cooked Mexican meal from Mom. I ordered the carne asada with napoles (cactus) and sauteed kale and onions. Was blown away by the flavors and textures. Will definitely be back.

This place is amazing. Great service and great food. Big fan of their salmon ceviche, their carnitas, and their chips and salsa. Chips and salsa make a place, and combined with a carafe of margaritas on their patio it’s a great way to start off a meal or a night out.
