Stopped by Rose Alley Ale House for a Sluice Juice on draft. Added 6 bone in wings with the dry rub garlic parmesean. Also added a side of their fiery garlic and Thai peanut sauces. Phenomenal all the way around. Small parking lot in the back or you need to pay the meter. The passport app helps with parking payment.

Beautiful night in New Bedford. Three of my friends and myself wandered down towards the cobblestone district. A street concert was going on. My friends and I went to Rose Alley. Rose Alley of course no longer has the roses but it also does not need to cover the pungent smell of whale oil. This New Bedford mainstay was not packed. The gang grabbed seats on the outdoor patio. We could hear the live music from a few blocks over. Our server was Chloe, who was very great! She wrote down our order. My friend had very specific requirements for his burger. Anyways I had a house salad with shrimp and 1 dozen garlic herb dry rub chicken wings. The salad was…drumroll…a salad. Lots of lettuce…very fresh, diced tomatoes were really good…again it was a salad….had six nice grilled shrimp.
But the wings were amazing. Little crisp. Very meaty. Dipped into chunky blue cheese dressing. I mean the only fault was the celery….but drumroll…fake stick salad :)….
The wings are hands down an A. My friends had the boneless. They had sweet chili for one order and Mozambique for the other. One had fries. One had fried pickles. Both gave their chicken tenders A plus. The fried pickles came with no dipping sauce was the only criticism by one of them. My other friend refused to give me a review and stated people should just come there. He must of like it because he was first done. Overall for 4 people with $103.00 tip $128.00. Chloe, the server did a great job by being detail oriented, by being available when needed, and just really friendly. The atmosphere allowed for conversations, not overly crowded…
I give Rose Alley at 7-8:15 = A+.

Entrance was a little hard to find, (I entered down stairs)
Sat at the bar & I had great service from Bre! Food was amazing, wings had a ton of flavor & were well seasoned. Sweet Potato fries were PERFECT, crispy outside & perfectly creamy tender inside with just a lil bounce! Even my lil side salad was well put together!
Definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for a nice place to get some drinks & some amazing American Bar food!

I came here for karaoke on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend 2025. It was a good big rowdy crowd of friendly folks and the DJ ran a good show. I didn’t eat there, but my Black Russian was good sized and very well made. If you love karaoke and you are coming to New Bedford, definitely worth a visit. Get there earlier, it did get very crowded. When I left at about midnight the line was out the door. A very good indicator.

It’s really bothers me to even put this restaurant on blast but I’m in total shock. I love this place. Order from them at least 3 times a month. I always order their fried chicken sandwich.
If this was my establishment I would never let this leave the kitchen. Never mind pack it to go. This is the thinnest piece of “chicken breast” I’ve ever seen. I should’ve just gotten a mc chicken.
The quahog looks like throw up. SMH.
I’m putting everything in my oven now, hopefully it will taste better than it looks.
Very disappointed.

I have ordered from this restaurant before- ALWAYS very good. Meat is tender and juicy. Today not so much. I ordered 1.5 pounds of chicken tenders. Usually arrives in two separate containers. Pictured below is what arrived. This is 20$ worth of chicken tenders. Might as well have gone to McDonalds for the quantity and quality. Very disappointed- will have to find another local place.

Great vibe and very crowded because it is popular with the local crowd. If the bartender knows you service is great, other than that you may wait a bit between rounds. Food was general pub type and taste good. Cool bar in a great downtown location. Parking can be a challenge at times but you will eventually find a spot. All in all this is a must visit for a drink or bite to eat when in New Bedford.
