Stephanie (Just my opinion)
It’s some of the best Italian food I’ve had since leaving San Francisco.

I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which were so delicious.

My family ordered the pasta modo mio, with shrimp! I took a bite and it was so good as well.

I recommend the calamari for an app, and you have to take home a slice of tiramisu!

Our waitress was great, so kind and welcoming.

Extremely disappointed! This was our first time here and I got the Dual Italian. I was thinking I would never be able to eat it all (too much food) but I couldn’t eat it because the chicken parm was a half of a frozen chicken patty and tasted nuked. The best part of the meal was the BLAND fettuccine Alfredo after I applied more parm and salt and pepper!

When I questioned our waitress about the chicken she didn’t know so I asked the other waitress and she said it’s breaded and fried. Not much info…

Service…DONT TALK ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS IN HEARING RANGE…Yes I heard yall talking about me questioning the chicken parm!! You lost out on a 50% tip because of it! (That and terrible service!)

EDIT: Owner replied….with little to no sympathy/care. Don’t read the positive reviews…find the ones with 3 or less stars. They are telling the truth. Believe me, nothing is authentic here!

I had it delivered to my work, but was delivered the wrong food. Then I went and got what I was supposed to receive and they wanted me to bring the other meal back. I lost work time for this and not to mention gas, because I had to turn around to get what was delivered after being told I could keep it. I was apologized to. I understand people make mistakes, but this was time consuming mistake. The picatta is my favorite and tiramisu is delicious.

This review is not malicious but rather to inform future guests about what they might experience and to help the ownership improve if they so choose to do so. — Regarding a visit here and one order of chicken parmesan, dine-in: First of all, I am an Italian from the northeast U.S., born of U.S. immigrants from Italy, and who has been immersed in authentic Italian food for 40+ years- including proficient preparation of it all. I also have 20+ years experience working all positions, from dish-washer to general manager and everything in between, within several different types of restaurants. The meal at Joe’s was only passable regarding overall quality. The service was average & nothing impressive. The internal atmosphere and energy, other than the tables, chairs, and bar, was less like a restaurant and more like a funeral home + art gallery combination. The value (portion of food vs. price paid) was below average, and be aware that there is an additional charge for using your credit card to pay- which was not verbally disclosed until after the bill was closed already. I generally spend time reviewing only if I have either an excellent experience or a highly disappointing one, and this case it’s obvious. Hoping you will reflect, and wishing Joe’s well regardless.

This is my regular spot. If I’m going out to eat there’s no other place I’d rather go. The food was truly amazing. The service was excellent. I got steak and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. My wife got fettuccine Alfredo and she loved it. The kids menu was perfect. 10/10 recommend and definitely going back.

Oh man is their food wonderful. Fresh house made rolls, generous and tasty salads. My wife’s lasagna was to die for ! I had the spaghetti and meat balls, which were excellent. The atmosphere made you think you were in Italy. I normally eat at the Mexican restaurant (I love Tex Mex) next to the Rio Theatre before it’s evening showing, but now we’ll have to flip a coin to see where to go.

I would give negative stars for service if I could. I have tried to eat here twice…
1. After seating us, a waitress appeared with lots of attitude to inform us she was too busy to serve my fiancé and I. We were asked to leave. It was 6:30 pm.

2. Made it to the appetizer that the server brought out. Unfortunately, it was the wrong appetizer. When we mentioned this, she stomped to the kitchen to fetch the cold stuffed mushrooms. We ordered and waited. 15 min. later, our server, who at this point was full of attitude, informs us the oven was broken and they could not prepare our order.

As we left without dinner, I heard the server take an order for what I had ordered, baked lasagna and a pizza. I think they were going to need that broken oven to start working in a hurry.

I have been told that since the owners had opened a second restaurant and were not really at Joe’s much anymore… maybe they will read this and start paying attention to what has been happening at Joe’s. I hope so as I love good Italian food but have only cold stuffed mushrooms and a glass of tea to write about.

Bread was warm, but there was 0 flavor. They did not have what I wanted to order. They also just started new management/owner, so hopefully next time will be a better experience.

We had a wonderful meal. Best Italian in East Texas. I highly recommend the tour of Italy and Lobster Ravioli. The bread is fresh and warm. Lovely ambiance. If you have room for it- the chocolate cheesecake dessert was phenomenal.
