This is one of the best kept secrets in McHenry county. We love Tapas, and the variety here is outstanding. The freshest ingredients and choice meats, complemented by superb wines make for a dining experience you will not forget. The owner Nick truly knows his stuff, and is one of the nicest guys you could meet. Love the casual but authentic atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly and provide excellent service. Truly a must do gastric experience.

Wow…from the wine selection, to the meat and cheese plate, to the paella and everywhere in between, this was a PHENOMENAL meal. The owners are super friendly and the service is great. The meats and seafood were SUPER fresh and delicious and the chef is truly amazing. We will be back again and again and again!

What a great place. Nick is a really nice guy who is very interested in ensuring that people have an excellent time. He loves his wine, travels to find interesting bottles and is more than willing to share that information with his customers. The whole staff are great. The food is excellent and I just really love that during the day, the place is a meat market/butcher. Tapas Calpe is a treasure for Cary, IL. It brings fresh ingredients together for an ever changing menu. Good food, good prices, great staff. I love this place! They occasionally have special wine dinners too.

My wife and I have been planning to go here for so long. We promised the first time we would get out of the house alone after having our first baby this would be the place to go. And now we are sad it took so long to try. It was awesome! We called last minute and were able to get the last table available. They had it all ready for us and seated us right away. The owner had our drink order within minutes and suggested the white sangria which was great. The waitress was extremly friendly and the food was amazing! And the chocolate cake!!! Man was that good. We have no complain at all and will be going back ASAP!!

Wow! Good stuff! Great flavor and seasonings. I enjoyed the cerviche, fresh and fruity. Goat cheese stuffed mushrooms and a short rib pasta dish also on the menu on our visit. Knowledgeable staff suggested a perfect wine for the meal. Make reservations! We we’re lucky to get a seat at the bar.

Tapas Calpe is a culinary treat! If you are a food and wine enthusiast this should be your “go-to place”. The owner Nick and his son John make you feel right at home and the menu had eclectic dishes from around the world. We enjoyed the best tres leches cake from guest Baker Julio this evening. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent food. We had the paella, stuffed mushrooms, and a salad. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Thecost wad $60 for 2 people for that good and a carafe of sangria. Excellente.

Absolutely incredible. Probably my favorite place to eat. The staff is on top of their game at all times and extremely knowledgeable. Tell them what you like in a wine and they will pick the perfect vintage for you every time.
