Cutest little store! We ended up visiting and then coming back because the pies sold here are legit some of the best pie I’ve ever had in my life!!! Even my kids kept asking if we could go back for more pie and love the touch of being able to add the perfect ice cream scoop on top (chocolate or vanilla).

There’s lot of great items to purchase for gifts (which we did) or to bring a little bit of the local goods back home with you! Even our fave local coffee roaster (Shooke) made a special blend for the Gifford House.

There’s a barn nearby and lots of picnic tables. There’s no restrooms there but there’s some close by at the campground (all easy walking distance). Visitors center is also not too far of a drive and there’s restrooms there too.

Highly recommend stopping by for pie if you’re in the area!

We had the pleasure of tasting the fruit pies from Gifford House & Museum Store, and they were absolutely outstanding! Both the mixed berry and the apple pies were excellent — packed generously with fresh fruit, perfectly balanced in sweetness (which is quite rare in the U.S.), and featuring a delightfully crisp and flaky crust. The quality and freshness of the ingredients truly shine through. These pies are a must-try for anyone visiting the area — homemade goodness at its best!

Fabulous pies! Get there earlier in the day, not 3pm or they may be sold out. Worth the wait if there’s a line. And it moved fast for us.

If you’re in Capitol Reed National Park, or even just driving through, do yourself a favor and go to Gifford house!!! We got two cinnamon rolls and the mixed berry pie and omg they were both SO good. Made fresh that morning and I’m drooling literally thinking about how good the pie was. Fresh. Not too sweet. You could even get homemade ice cream to go with it.

They also have jams, salsas, and other goodies that are delish and make perfect gifts!

We were hoping to try the apple pie, but it was sold out by the time we arrived. Instead, we had the cherry pie, and it was absolutely delicious! If pies are available when you visit, definitely grab one, they’re so tasty and worth it! We also tried the vanilla and chocolate ice creams they had, and those were good too.

A wonderful place to get some pie or cinnamon buns. They also have lots of scented candles, honey and other goods to purchase as well as bottled water.

Based on all the reviews, I was eager to try their homemade pies but can’t help feel bamboozled at $6.50 per pie.

There were 5 flavor of pies offered: peach, cherry, mixed berry, apple, and strawberry rhubarb

I got the apple, peach, and strawberry rhubarb.

The pies were just ok to be honest. I didn’t see what all the rave was about. The peach pie lacked peach flavor. The strawberry rhubarb filling was watery. The bottom crust was also on the soggy side for all 3 pies. Flavor wise, the best of the 3 was the strawberry rhubarb.

I’m glad I tried the pies as part of the Capital Reef NP experience. However, I would not buy it again.

Posted hours were 9 to 4:30. The strawberry rhubarb is NOT overly sweet if you prefer sweeter pies (pies were $8.48 each) but it was still tasty. The cinnamon roll (at only $4) was both a great deal and delicious!!! We put our purchases on the car dash during our first hike and the two were warmed up nicely afterwards. It’s a very touristy experience but still highly recommended!

30 min max parking in their small lot which is more than sufficient time to spend here. They have a small museum inside and sell souvenirs, jam/jelly, honey, wooden spoons, small wooden cutting boad (probably around 10 x 9 for an outrageously priced $85), pre-packaged chocolate or vanilla cup ice cream ($1.50), cold drinks for $2.50. They also had home made looking pies (cherry, apple, mixed berry, peach, strawberry rhubard) for $6.50 each. The pies are good for one hungry person after a hike or could be split (pics provided). Pies were just ok. Metal picnic tables are available outside with beautiful scenic Utah mountain backdrop at almost every angle. There is a convenient water fountain outside a few feet from the house and picnic tables to fill up your water bottle even if just passing through.

stopped in here two days in a row because the experience was so delightful!
strawberry rhubarb, peach, cherry, mixed berry, and apple pies—all $8.50 a pie (but the perfect size to split between two people)—made fresh daily! but get there early, they sell out quick!
highly recommend the apple pie, it felt like we were enjoying our grandma’s homemade pie. there’s seating outside to enjoy your treat. they also had lots of wonderful things for sale, including some great stickers that the visitor center didn’t have!
