An excellent meal with excellent service. You MUST try the chicken wings and the cheese cake balls for dessert. The chef owners are thoughtful and truly care about their products. Bravo! Good portions at great prices.

Amazing food, from um everything. Had the hot wings, crispy awesome flavor. The fries are stupendous. That burger I had, just perfect. Stopped in today with my mom. She was in awe of how good it was to. Great service is an understatement. Super friendly, always smiling. Great place. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Stop in and see for yourself. You will not regret it.

I hardly ever leave reviews but had to for this place. I enjoyed the best grilled fish sandwich I have ever eaten. My friend had a Vermont raised beef burger, which looked very yummy. Definitely my best dining experience in the last 2+ years. I left so full and satisfied and the fries were amazing! Very affordably priced aswell.

If you like ribs, you’re in for a treat; superb! Good portion, reasonably priced. The coleslaw is fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. We live locally and we’ll be back! It’s nice to have an option with good food and reasonable prices!

Lovely restaurant in downtown Windsor, VT all offerings are locally sourced if possible such as the beef. Food is plentiful and made to order. All ingredients are very fresh and they offer vegan options for those who wish them. Restaurant is small and cozy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Owner visits with, and remembers his clientele! Reservations are available, and I’d recommend if your party is large. Menu items are wide in variety, and there’s something everyone will love including a kids menu. We had a fantastic bruschetta with pesto and fresh mozzarella that was honey crusted and handmade jalapeno poppers for appetizers and a huge fresh cheese burger on a brioche bun with a side of homemade fries and baked haddock (which was also huge) and cooked to perfection (very fresh) and came with a variety of sides but also chose the homemade fries. Their dessert menu looks phenomenal, but we didn’t get that far, ended up needing a take home box for leftovers. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone living in Windsor and looking for a great restaurant in town or to any tourists visiting the area. The restaurant is located just beyond the Diner and sits back from the road. #SupportLocalBusinesses

I have gone to Au Jus a total of 3 times as I believe everyone deserves a second (or 3rd) chance. I had big hope for this restaurant but was disappointed every time. It’s a wonderful space with a lot of potential but the quality of the food is subpar at best. I deliberately ordered a very different item each time. I found the meat over cooked, the sides consistently cold (at least it was consistent) and the pasta dreadfully lacking in sauce to pasta ratio leaving what could have been a tasty dish dry and wanting. The service was great, I will give it that, but I have no plans to return.

A little family run comfort/bbq food restaurant with inside & outside seating. The cheddar bites made with house recipe breading are amazing! The brisket and pulled pork were great as well. Only issue we had was the drinks ordered seemed not to be pre-chilled and were watered down by the small amount of ice as they hit the table. It was one of those more like summer, fall days and it was very warm inside the restaurant.

Crazy in a great way!!! Came upon this fabulous restaurant as my husband and I took a ride last week from Southern NH.
We are fans of “trips to where ever”…are retirees and have a 2013 Corvette. Although the weather was questionable, my husband chose Windsor specifically Ascutney State Park as our destination.
After the 2 1/2 hour ride….lunch was in order. Not many choices in Windsor so stopped at the local Post Office for possible advice. We were pointed in the direction of Au Jus. What a diamond in the rough. This struggling restaurant is owned by a motivated husband and wife who opened one year ago. The wife Jessica was working with one assistant. Her hubby was taking care of a personal matter. Jessica did it all….hostess, server, cook and bottle washer. Amazing young mother of two!!
The food was amazing. The couple smokes all their meat and judging by the ribs..to perfection. What a menu!! Sides all made in house. With COVID and being a relatively new establishment – I hope others will travel from near and far to enjoy this fantastic food and warm, caring owners. We need to support local small business owners.
