Wow, where do I start?
We visited the handesome cab Sat, Nov 15th, 2025. My wife and I were visiting York for the weekend. The owners were awesome, decor awesome, atmosphere awesome. Food, not so much!! Pretty terrible. My Cacio e Pepe was swimming in oil, the cheese was not creamy, it looked like the 3 cheeses were sprinkled on the dish without the constant blending into the pasta to create the creamy sauce, it was completely prepared incorrectly AND it came in a skillet!! It looked like oil and water seperating, clearly the chef has no clue how to make this simple, yet elegant, technical dish. My wifes main dish was the Portugeuse Burgerette.. The menu states it comes with an orange aioli but it clearly was not, it was mayonnaise, and lots and lots of it! Our appetizer consisted of the Bang Bang shrimp. They were extremely overcooked and had no flavor because of it! We were left with a horrible aftertaste of oil in our mouths, not good. Again, technically, the chefs cooking technique failed once again. In all fairness, my mother in law had the Asian Veggie Burgerette and she enjoyed it. We would return for a night cap, just not for a Dark and Stormy, which my wife had and was all wrong, was shakened and stirred, lol, and or listen to the piano player, which, btw, on the night we were there was not performing. My mother in law was happy, I’m fine with that!

Everything at The Cab is top notch. The food, the drinks, the service and the ambience. I never have had a bad experience. Robert and Andrew are amazing hosts. If you haven’t gone you’re missing out.

First, this place is so cute! The menu was a little different from what I usually see at places like this, but that made it a little bit fun and different. My husband and I met his sister and her husband here since we live a ways apart and York is a nice middle of the road meet up. The server was fine, but could have been a little more attentive. I ordered shrimp and grits. The entire dish was lukewarm warm at best. The grits were lumpy with large clumps of grits throughout. I can’t remember if there was 5 or six shrimp, but two of them were not deveined and they were over cooked. My brother-in-law ordered toast with his eggs, which he never got and the server never came back to check on. We won’t meet here again.

Well staffed with incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Food presentation was extraordinary as well as food quantity and quality! We really enjoyed our dinner! Huge variety of drinks and specials. Ambience was comfy, industrial, but elegant ! Highly recommend!!

This was a disappointment. Wanted to avoid the Valentine’s holiday evening and have brunch the following morning instead. Chose The Handsome Cab for what looked to be an interesting brunch menu and good reviews. The atmosphere is the best thing this place has going. Its casual, some interesting decor and nice color scheme. The two most important things are lacking. The food and the service. We sat at the table for 1 hour before receiving food. Kitchen way too slow for the seating they have. Food was mediocre at best. Had hot honey fried chicken with french toast. Fried chicken was overcooked on the outside. Too dark and burnt in spots. Hot honey wasn’t hot at all. Just sweet on sweet with some chicken. Micro greens on the plate for no reason at all other than trying too hard. My wife had bananas foster french toast. It was mushy and soft. Not a banana in site. Looked more like bread pudding. Flavor was okay. Finished eating and proceeded to wait 20 minutes for the check. Had 2 tiny alcoholic drinks in champagne flutes. $65 before tip. Overall, too expensive for food trying to be fancy. Not a place you want to go if you have somewhere to be afterwards.

The service wasn’t great. I had get up and find someone to get a second round of drinks. Food also took quite a while to be cooked/served.
I got the double smashed burger and was highly disappointed with the size. Fast food burgers dwarf this double patty. Especially since it was a $17 burger. That said, the carmelized bacon was exquisite.

Our first time visiting this establishment and we could not have been more impressed! The service was welcoming and excellent. The small plates were not very small and were absolutely delicious! The chef clearly knows how to make dishes taste savory. The beer and wine selection is top notch and our waiter was well educated. There is a piano in the main dining area, though it was not being played during our visit, the vibe of the restaurant conveys it would be an amazing piano bar experience. Oh, did I mention the food was fantastic? There is a bar and lounge upstairs that offers a small and relaxing getaway from the main area on the first floor. Will go back often!

we entered the restaurant and we’rseated right away, which was fine however we were seated right between two tables and they were all so close together that we could hear everybody’s conversation except our own. The food was a huge disappointment. We got the crabcakes, which was served over risotto. You couldn’t find hardly any crab in the crabcakes. It was mostly saltines and mayo. Big disappointment. We can make better crab cakes at home. They bragged about making them like Maryland crab cakes not even close. Needless to say we won’t be back.

Very satisfied with our food and the ambience. With the coconut curry chicken I ordered I can say that it’s the first time in a long while that I’ve tasted something uniquely new. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the drink and food selections and was very professional. Would definitely return. Loved the cloth towels in the bathrooms.

100% worth the drive! The food is amazing, a wine list that goes on and on, the atmosphere is perfect and the service was top notch! We had an incredible meal and were able to support local artists while we waited for our food, while enjoying a fabulous bottle of wine. I will definitely return. This was not just dinner out, it was an experience. Love!
