The 4 lobster lunch last week was horrible with the smallest lobsters I ever saw, and I asked for only the tails but all four full lobsters fit on a regular sized plate with a salad I would not touch. These lobsters should never have been taken out of the ocean until they matured. The melted butter didn’t taste like butter so who knows what it was. My wife asked for a cup of coffee in Spanish and she said “uno cafe con no leche y no aszucar” (one coffee with no milk or sugar), and the coffee came loaded with sugar which she could not drink. She sent it back asked for another coffee and was told by the waitress they do not have any more coffee. What? A restaurant with no coffee? Are you kidding? They charged us $50 US with a check showing nothing itemized, so we were totally overcharged compared to the prices in pesos on the menu. The WORST FOOD EVER in Baja, and a total rip-off.

The food, service and atmosphere here are all great. We loved it.
The only problem is, if you pay with US dollars, they will overcharge you like crazy and give you a ridiculous “bank exchange rate.”
If you go get cash at the ATM nearby, they charge you a $69 transaction fee. Yes, 69 US dollars of ATM fee, which is crazy…
The solution is to come with a local and pay with pesos, or simply go somewhere else.
Also the bathroom has no toilet paper…

I love this place. A tiny little lady makes fresh tortillas in the front. Prices are great. Food is great. The guacamole is the BEST in town. They close on the strangest days like Friday. I don’t really know what day they close. I get there different days of the week. If I am lucky, they will be open. Places nearby are similar but not as great. After lunch, I like to take a walk along the ocean. Access is right next to their place. Most interesting rocks along the ocean. The people are friendly. I visit frequently. Collecting souvenirs and tasting tequila is entertaining for sure. They speak English better than I am able to speak Spanish.

Ortega’s Patio offers the best lobster in all of Puerto Nuevo, if not the world. The service makes you feel like a close friend welcomed you into their home, the owners are warm, and the platters are nothing short of exceptional. Out of the many places I’ve eaten at, none stand out to me in the way this restaurant does.
There’s a common misconception that higher prices mean higher quality food, but correspondence is not causation. You see, Ortega’s Patio has the best prices in addition to the best food.
Most people I know familiar with this restaurant have Ortega’s Patio at the top of their birthday restaurant list, and I personally have come here for years without any fluctuation in quality. I rarely write reviews on anything, which is why I may not be a star reviewer, but the sheer quality in all aspects of this restaurant is too high for me not to helplessly advertise it everywhere and to anyone I know.
It has been difficult to put my experiences at this resteraunt into words, and I know my descriptions can’t do it justice.
My favorite restaurant has my allegiance and business forever, and I hope it has yours. Simply put, eating at another lobster restaurant is crime when this one is open. I will return to Ortega’s Patio soon, hungry for more.

Very Disappointing on how they try to deceive you of what you are ordering and what they are actually getting and how they lie on overcharging you like crazy for the food and the drinks.. Charchi g $25dlls for just a lobster quesadilla and never rough any side dishes that was to come with it … Ordered 2 Cadillac margaritas that is suppose to have premium Tequila and Grandmanier $10 each. Tasted horrible with cheap-Tonaya “moonshine version” Tequila instead when questioning it didn’t taste like it the waiteried said he “saw” when it was maid … .my heart started racing and horrible headache ..this has never happened before …was scary asked for the check to leave …The bill had NO PRUCES.. Just the total with crazy dollar amounts … STAY AWAY from this place and ALL the Ortega’s . Will NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE
