What a hidden gem. This is comfort food to the max! I had a delicious fried cheese, salami egg and yucca mash, a hot fresh empanada and tried the chop cheese. Loved all of it. My husband and I had a blast eating at their parking lot tent. We enjoyed every bite.

Was so excited when I saw this near my adventure yesterday. Plenty of street parking but make sure you don’t block anyone’s gate! Upon walking up I realized it’s a ghost kitchen/multi-kitchen situation so you actually order online. The service was quick and the people working were very kind and sweet. There’s a little table so we sat out front to eat. Very cute hanging lights, but the storm messed up the lil patio covering. We ordered the:

Chicken and cheese empanada: okay, crispy wrapper that’s reminiscent of a wonton wrapper. the best part was oddly the mozzerella, great cheese pull, but seemed to be concentrated in one corner
Chimi sauce: okay
Chop Cheese: was okay, ingredients were fresh, was looking for a bit more flavor

Overall it was only okay, but I would like to try a couple more things for another review ♥️

Bodega Delights is an absolute gem. The food is fresh, flavorful, and genuinely authentic. The menu has so much variety that it’s hard to pick just one favorite.

We ordered the empanadas, and los Tres Golpes bowl in the photo perfectly crispy fried cheese, ripe avocado, and eggs cooked just right. Every bite hit the spot. The morir soñando drinks were refreshing too, especially paired with the meal on a sunny day outdoors.

Justin made the whole experience even better. He was friendly, kind, and clearly takes pride in the food. His cooking skills are superb the kind of quality that keeps you coming back.

I’m soo happy to be writing this as a Dominican Taíno woman who has finally found a legit spot for Dominican food in LA. The quality is great. This isn’t low effort greasy slop. You can tell they genuinely care about what they’re putting out.

I’m originally from New York and used to grab a chimi from my bodega weekly. I’ve been in LA for almost eight years so imagine my excitement when this popped up on my TikTok For You page.

Gracias mi gente keep shining. ✨

Dynamite Dominican Delights served up at this relatively, spacious North Hollywood ghost kitchen, beautifully prepared by a delightful married couple–Evelyn & Justin–who both exude warmth and charm, while demonstrating some pretty creative and sophisticated cooking chops. For my initial visit, I chose to sample several items, each of which was delicious! I tried three different empanadas (beef, chicken and chicken and cheese). Stupendously good empanadas–generously sized, flaky crust, packed with filling, and each was bursting in flavor! The version that stands out in my mind was the beef empanada; the beef filling was perfectly seasoned and so satisfying in its well-balanced savoriness. I also tried the chop cheese and Dominican salami, egg and cheese sandwiches, both of which were incredibly tasty! I loved them both, but for me, the sandwich with the salami stands out. It may have been my first experience with Dominican salami–a smoky, highly savory, cured meat that, accompanied by a fried egg and cheese, creates a very comforting sandwich. Great spot! Made even better by the people behind this operation! So glad to have discovered this restaurant.

Service
Justin is extremely genuine and friendly, and you can tell he cares about his customers feedback, his food creations, and his love for his business. Truly appreciate meeting you and for your hospitality.

Parking
There’s a few stalls in the front of the gate, but I just pulled up right to the front door and ran to grab my food. Definitely a cool experience going into ghost kitchen and seeing how other businesses operate.

Food
Really wanted to try the Handcrafted Dominican Empanadas but got the NYC Original Chopped Cheese Hero sandwich and a coconut drink. The sandwich was definitely filling and delicious!

Ambience
Aka it’s a ghost kitchen but overall everything was clean which is a great sign

I visited the Bodega again. I did not know what a Bodega was until I visited Bodega Delights. Bodega Delights is a family run business with the inspiration from the New York bodegas. Justin and Evalyn started and run the business. Justin’s father owned a grocery store. I could see the passion for making people happy with great service and food. It is nice to see such a nice family run business be so successful.

The food is incredible. I had the best chicken and chicken and cheese empanadas that I have ever had. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. The crispy empanada was a perfect combination for soft interior. Look at the photos.

The chicken sandwiches and were large, tasty and delicious. The fresh ingredients along with the melted cheese, very moist flavorful chicken and crispy bread really did make a meal by itself.

I tried the iced coffee and berry smoothie. The iced coffee hit the spot on a August hot day. The smoothie was thick and flavorful. Look at the photos to see what I am describing.

I finished everything with a delectable Banana muffin.

They can get your order done in 20 minutes and the location has easy parking.

I really do recommend Bodega Delights for your next order. Your family will love it.

This is what they call a “ghost kitchen” eatery…from what I understand, it means they rent out the kitchen facilities from another place and conduct their own business. So there is no place for you to sit, unless you go sit in your car outside… they’ll text you when your food is ready for pickup. Everything is take out or delivery…

You need to order through their website or doordash and pick up your order…aside from that, the meal portions are pretty big, and very tasty.

The Service: Justin was taking my order. He was super patient to guide me through how to order online…. step by step!! Excellent customer service!!

The Food: Everything was made to order. Love the Chimi (Dominican Burger) especially the sauce, totally open up my appetite. They sauteed the sliced onions, very flavorful. Definitely a big sandwich.

Their cafe is strong, just the way I like my coffee!

The Parking: Parking spaces right in front (free)
