This was the first time visit for my friends and myself. We picked it based on Google reviews and its proximity to the Cannon Valley trailhead. Proved to be a great place for a post ride lunch. There were five of us in the party. One chose pizza which he described as excellent. The rest of us chose from among the great many variations on Mac cheese. These are assembled while your watch behind a a counter somewhat reminiscent of a subway sandwich shop. Then off to the oven. Servings were uniformly large and reasonably priced. The medium pizza proved to be sufficiently large for two, possibly three people. Three of the four mac and cheese orders in my party left food in the oven so to speak. (The signature mac and cheese variations are served in single serving size cast iron, Dutch ovens, which is not only unique, but serves to keep the contents warm.) I had ridden more miles than the rest, and I was perfectly happy to consume all of my brisket and barbecue mac cheese entree. Water and soft drinks for beverages. Alas, no beer, which would go great with either the pizza or the Mac cheese. I’ll go back again the next time I’m in Red Wing.

Absolutely loved The Mac Shack in Red Wing! I rode high in the Texas Biscuit Burrito—flaky, savory, and packed with flavor. My friends had the Buffalo Chicken Mac Burrito, Philly Cheesesteak Mac, and the Low Decay Dirt Hot Mac. Each dish was unique, wildly flavorful, and totally worth trying. Creative comfort food done right. Five stars without hesitation. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Absolutely delicious, got the Texas Twinkie Mac and the daily special Street Taco Mac as burritos. Phenomenal. My burrito fell apart but I couldn’t care less, still delicious. The staff are super nice and the food comes out quick.
The prices may seem high but lord above do you get a ton of food. 2 people could happily split one entree.
They also offer gluten free and plant based meat options.
10/10 might go back tomorrow and we don’t live anywhere near red wing.

Service was very friendly and accommodating. Menu had a lot of variety that pleased everyone in our group of 10. Mac and cheese, burritos, bowls, variation on egg rolls. Everyone left with a full belly and a smile

If you love comfort food this is a good place to try. Mac n Cheese is creamy and delish! I had the Philly Mac n cheese. They have cheese steaks, pizzas and wings as well. Staff was very friendly. You order at a counter and then you can take out or sit at a table.

Stopepd for lunch on a Sunday after a hike at the local state park. While it is a little more per person than I’d like to spend for lunch, everything we got was so filling and tasty I didn’t mind. We got two specialty macs, but another table had the mac and cheese pizza and I was also jealous of that – if only there had been more than two people in my party. Service was friendly, location was

The food was immaculate, very down to earth atmosphere, the owner was right there with his employees helping to make the food. Food was made to order, hot and fresh out of the oven. You definitely get your money’s worth of food, if not more, as the portion sizes are huge. If you want to find a hidden gem of a restaurant while you’re in the Red Wing area, do NOT hesitate to stop here.

restaurant with a really good selection and a brilliant use for a pizza oven. very busy the day we were there. we had to wait about 20 minutes for our food. Was delicious and worth the wait, would be even better without it. it’s available on doordash. would be fantastic for a picnic. great for kids that are picky eaters. if we lived in a neighborhood we would be there often. When we’re in town for a concert we will swing by.

We were looking for a place to get gluten free pizza in the area, talked to the mac shack and they did things the right way to make sure things stay gluten free and do not get cross contamination. That was the good part, the bad is it was super expensive for what we got and on top of that they over charged my card, on top of that when I called they said they would look into it and call back now a week later I am still waiting for a call. That in my opinion is bad business practice. I get that mistakes are made, but don’t say you will check into and then ghost me. Very unsatisfied!
