I stopped by with one of my little ones today trying to find a community board to post my Small Businesses of Albany page business card but couldn’t find the community board. I did however find the best hot chocolate and chocolate chip muffin in the planet! I was not expecting a beautiful design on our hot chocolates! What I also didn’t expect to find was a meaningful conversation with the guy next to me! This is a great place to meet people and share our lives and the environment of this cafe really promotes community!

I ordered the rooibos tea, and they nailed it. Perfect temperature, lightly sweetened with honey, smooth and clean without any bitterness.
We shared the cucumber bagel sandwich. Everything bagel, stacked with cucumber, tomato, lettuce, red onion, and cream cheese. Finished with olive oil and vinegar. Crisp, fresh, every ingredient doing its job.
The space is open and light. High ceilings, cool-toned wood floors, pale walls, and plants everywhere. Shelves with artful clutter. A piano tucked by the counter. Everything feels intentional without trying too hard.
The staff were bright, patient, and fully present.
Out front, it’s casual and welcoming. Places to sit, slow down, people-watch.
Strong chance this becomes a regular stop.

A great little coffee shop tucked into downtown Albany. It had the typical hometown feeling, when I went in the front door I could see that pretty much everybody there knew everyone. I grew up in a small town where that sort of familiarity was common. What a wonderful place to enjoy my memories of small towns while sipping on an espresso…

I really have wanted to like Margin, I have been to both locations. The downtown location has a better atmosphere. I have had drinks there, as well as taken them to go. It is too bad that it’s one of the only good places to meet friends for coffee in the area. The drink flavors are not to my liking. The chai has spicy and odd flavors.

What a fun and cute coffee shop. I stopped in to get some grounds and the person helping me was so friendly and sweet. Having never been before, she gave me small taster of the coffee I wanted to ground to be sure I’d enjoy the taste of a full bag. She was very knowledgeable about their beans/roasts and really helpful. I also got a small latte and it was quite tasty. Would definitely come back, and hopefully enjoy some coffee in house as the location has a great space for hanging out!

A long time favorite. Our espresso and pour over were so spot on today that I wanted to give a shout out. The Guatemalan bean is the best! High quality drinks in a variety of styles. Espresso is smooth and the baristas take care in a proper pull. The pour over is worth the wait. Terrific mochas, and I enjoy the drip coffee in both the Guatemalan bean and their Bellwether blend. Mocha hazelnut scone and morning glory muffin are nice. Hot chocolate is just acceptable. They use Torani syrup for the chocolate – wish they used Ghirardelli chocolate. Wonderful atmosphere that draws people all day for meeting, relaxing, and studying.

Very nice design inside. White and black color scheme while still paying homage to the old antique style of the building. The hot mocha I ordered did not have the depth of flavor I was hoping for, nor the latte art on top. Plenty of seating inside with people working away on their laptops – even on the weekend.

Great coffee. Great service. Didn’t wait long. Plenty of places to sit and tables to set your drink on. Quiet enough for casual conversation, not too loud. Ordered a turkey tower. Was delicious! Parking was a bit challenging during lunch time.

Really cute shop with good coffee. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great. It’s spacious and clean in a beautiful older building with lots of charm. My 4 year old loved her hot chocolate which was not too hot for her to drink.
