I felt compelled to write this review because I’m surprised there’s negative ones. First and formost the food was spectacular! No fishy smell AT ALL. And I’m extremely picky when it comes to my seafood. The raw oysters tasted fresh! The shrimp without head is deveined which that’s a HUGE deal for me. If there’s poop in my shrimp I will not eat it. The flavors were spot on and the amount of crab legs and food was amazing! I even got to take some home. Currently eating it now and tastes even better the next day. Served over white rice! Try it!

I ordered 1/2 lb Alaskan King crabs with 1/2 lb crawfish and sausages with Cajun jalapeño sauce. I don’t hink it was 1/2 lb of the King crab as you can see in the pic. When I ordered Cajun sauce, I did not expect lime/lemon taste. I don’t know, but maybe I am used to the southern way of Cajun sauce. My server was awesome. He brought me garlic butter sauce, but it was more sour than the Cajun sauce. He ended up bringing me the plain butter to dip with.

Place had one server and they tell you it will be a 30 min wait because of that. I ordered dungeness crab legs 1 lb, potatoes, corn and 1 egg with a strawberry lemonade. The crab was luke warm when it came to the table, i told the server there was no juice to the bag, and the crab was not hot. She took it back and had them redrop the bag and then brought it back out to me. The crab legs were tough, small, and old, with dark meat in areas…I ate it because I was hungry and had already waited….but I really wish I had sent it back and left. It was poorly seasoned and just lacked all the way around for $65…I was highly disappointed so I shared my concerns with the owner who simply gave me a manager discount that took maybe $10 off. Although I wasn’t looking for anything, I felt the meal grearlt lacked the ability to be served at that price …I would not eat there again.

We came here for Valentine’s Day and were really excited for a special seafood dinner, but overall we left disappointed. The service was good — the staff tried hard even though it was super busy — but the food did not live up to expectations at all.

We ordered the king crab and shrimp, and both were extremely dry and overcooked, which made them tough to enjoy. For two people, our bill was about $450, and at that price point you’d expect well-prepared, flavorful seafood — but sadly that wasn’t our experience.

We didn’t mention anything while we were there because the place was packed and felt chaotic, but looking back it really wasn’t worth the cost or the hype. Hoping it was just an off night, but at these prices quality should be consistent

The house sauce was delicious! The snow crab legs was tough to get the meat out as it was stuck to the shell.

Food was amazing, service was great, prices were very reasonable for seafood. I have no idea why the reviews aren’t great, we’ve lived here for years and had never tried it because of the reviews. So glad we finally came in, we will definitely be back.

Mr. Crab Seafood Boil in Reno, Nevada delivers an authentic seafood boil experience that’s both satisfying and well worth the visit. The restaurant does a fantastic job capturing the rich, bold flavors you’d expect from a classic boil, serving up generous portions that leave you feeling full and happy. Their shrimp and crab are standouts—perfectly seasoned, tender, and fresh, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the natural flavors of the seafood.

Alongside the seafood, the sausage, corn, and eggs complement the boil wonderfully. The sausage adds a smoky, savory depth, while the corn soaks up the seasoning well, offering a sweet contrast. The addition of eggs is a unique and hearty touch, rounding out the meal with extra texture and flavor.

Service is prompt and friendly, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it an excellent spot for families, groups, or anyone craving an indulgent seafood feast. If you’re in Reno and looking for an authentic boil that doesn’t skimp on portions or flavor, Mr. Crab Seafood Boil is a top choice. It’s a reliable go-to for seafood lovers and well worth a try for anyone new to the boil experience.

A very terrible experience just happened to my spouse and me this noon. I treated my friend and his family to lunch there. The service was fine at the beginning, and I was planning to leave a 20% tip.

Near the end of the meal, my partner discovered a piece from the soda machine faucet inside his Coke. We informed the server, and she came over without saying anything–no explanation or apology–and simply brought a new Coke.

The bill already included an 18% gratuity. She said the menu states that parties of five or more are charged a gratuity, but we had a two-year-old child who only ate a few fries. She said this was their policy. I told her the money was not the issue, but their handling of the situation was unacceptable. Finding a part of the soda machine in a drink is extremely disgusting, and if it caused any issues, it could pose a health risk since my partner had already consumed it.

The server then said this kind of thing happens often and that it has occurred more than once at their restaurant, and that their sanitation standards are fine. She also said that if my partner has health problems, we could bring a hospital report to them. Her attitude was very poor. From the beginning, she said “Jesus” to me and claimed we had communication issues due to language barriers.

We asked to speak with a manager, but they said only the owner was available. When I asked for the owner’s contact information, they refused to provide it. I asked them to pass our phone number to the owner instead.

Overall, the service attitude was extremely poor and very unprofessional.

It was my first time here and it was an interesting experience because it’s one of those things once you get started you’re committed there’s no stopping in the middle. I had crab clam and shrimp juice dripping off my beard and I was a total mess until the last bite. Fortunately, their sinks close by so you can quickly wash up. It actually was really good for my anxiety because it made me focus on what I was doing. Food was great service was great. I will definitely be back and I recommend it to anybody that likes crab shrimp and Cajun.

I went here before and our server and food was amazing so we decided to go again. My friend and I had ordered a pound of snow crab with the medium heat mr diablo sauce and one bite in I could tell something wasn’t right but we weren’t checked on at all so we just decided to stick with it. We could barely enjoy the food because it was so hot and when I started looking I realized we got the jalepeno cajun instead of the flavor we ordered. We tried getting our servers attention and we made eye contact with her several times and she just didn’t come over to us. By the time she checked in we were almost done so we just stuck with it but she tried to argue with us saying it was the right sauce but i could literally see the jalapeno seeds in the sauce so i pointed it out to her and she just argued with me. Instead of arguing back with her I just paid and left. It’s a super nice place and we really enjoy the food it’s just this time the servers were more interested in trying to close at 8 pm instead of checking in to make sure the food is good.
