The Saigon steak was incredibly flavorful and ended up being our table’s favorite dish. The beef was soft and tender, cooked with a generous amount of stir-fried onions.
The restaurant uses a different type of noodle for their drunken noodles, but it’s still a solid dish with peppers, basil and onions.
I recommend the iced butterfly lychee fizz. Its not too sweet, and the lychee flavor is prominent. Good morning drink if you dont want caffeine or mimosa!
The interior is nice, modern and comfortable. The servers are attentive, and it was overall a great experience.
The food was great and I thought the portions were huge. We started off sharing the shrimp spring rolls. The white wrap was good and not chewy or hard. The peanut sauce was good. For drinks, I got the Dalgona coffee. It was rich and tasty.
I love breakfast/brunch and this place serves it until 3pm! I had the Eggs Florentine Benedict. Came with a side salad and potatoes. The toasted potatoes were cut really small, which is what I like; I’m not a fan of big wedge style potatoes. All of it was good. Couldn’t clean my plate off because I was so full. I took a picture of it but later found out my phone didn’t save it for some reason, so apologies for not including a pic.
Other items my coworkers got were: some type of noodles, stir fried eggplant/chicken w/sunny side egg on top of rice. This looked good and they finished it.
Overall, food, service, and place were great. The price is about $16+. Typical rates for the area; however, the quantity and quality is worth it. I would definitely come back here!
The environment is pretty cozy. It’s small and industrial. Tables are all clean. They have inside and outside seating.
Their service was super nice! Everything came quickly. When you ask for suggestions, they are very informative. At the end of my bill, I accidentally paid more tips than what I intended to. They quickly refunded me and was able to help me input the amount I was gonna do I wanna give them extra tips just for that!
I was taking pictures for the review. Their staff were so friendly and thanked me even though they have no idea I am a Yelp elite!
The food portion is really big and tasty! Cooked just right! And drinks were awesome! So instagrammable!! And not overly sweet!
I would love to swing back again! Recommended!
The presentation was beautiful. I thought the white thing was some kind of dallop of sour cream, it was actually a beautifully poached egg.
I was in San Francisco this week for Dreamforce and needed a solid meal after a long day of sessions. I turned to Yelp to find a spot with great reviews, and that’s how I landed at Mr. East Kitchen. I’m so glad I did — they absolutely delivered.
My colleague ordered the Banh Mi sandwich, and I went with the Angus steak dish. He paired his meal with a bold Vietnamese coffee, while I opted for the lychee fizzy drink, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect contrast to the richness of the steak.
The food came out impressively fast — no long wait, just straight to the good part. Every bite was flavorful, balanced, and clearly made with care. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the overall experience felt effortless in the best way.
If I could give this place a 15 out of 10, I would. Excellent food, great service, and quick turnaround — exactly what you want whether you’re in town for a conference or just craving a quality meal.
Highly recommend Mr. East Kitchen — it’s the kind of spot that quietly surprises you and makes you want to come back.
