We love this place. Food is delicious, vibe is great and service is excellent (shout out to Moises in the bar area!) highly recommend the chori queso, birria anything (tacos, burrito, quesadilla), can’t beat the $2.50 taco Tuesday tacos…small street tacos but packed full of flavor.

This by far, is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at and I have eaten Mexican food in 49 states except Alaska. The food is great. The margaritas are delicious and the service is above and beyond. My fiance asked if they had any mango pico de gallo and our server said they didn’t, however, he went back and chopped up mangoes and put it in their pico and brought it to the table. I one 100% recommend Iztac Mexican Cantina.

Found this place across from a store we were shopping in and decided to try it. Glad we did as it was fantastic food. Everything we had was great and the only thing not right was the sliced limes…yep, oddly enough no juice when squeezing them on the tacos. While I would have liked it, the Verde sauce was enough and their salsa is the best anywhere. Service was fantastic and menu covered all the traditional dishes and some I rarely see. I love the options that are served in the volcanic rock bowls…not sure why, it’s just different and tasty. Anyways, great little place that deserves all the great ratings. We’ll be back.

The environment was nice and the restaurant was overall clean. We were seated quickly, less than a five minute wait, which was a great start. Unfortunately, service went downhill after our food was delivered. Our server completely forgot about us and did not come back for about 30 minutes. We tried multiple times to wave him down, but he walked past our table repeatedly while seating the door or attending to other tables.
They did run out of chips initially, but they brought them out about five minutes after we were seated. The chips were fresh and good. The salsa, however, was very tomato forward and lacked seasoning, and there was no salt or pepper on the table to help adjust the flavor.
I ordered the menudo and it was lacking flavor, which was disappointing given how highly rated this place is. I did see several fajita plates come out and those looked great, so that may be a better option. My partner ordered the California burrito, but it came out without fries even though the menu states it includes them like a traditional California burrito.
Overall, there’s potential here, but the service issues and food inconsistencies made the experience fall short of expectations.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in fredericksburg. Incredible food, laid back atmosphere, and some the most thoughtful/attentive servers. 10/10 . Also if you get the chance definitely check out Moises at the bar, best cocktails (especially mojito’s) in the area

Upon searching for a Mexican restaurant, I discovered this exceptional establishment. The cuisine was remarkably authentic, surpassing my expectations. The chilaquiles were particularly delectable, and the overall dining experience was exceptional. The generous portion sizes and impeccable service further enhanced the experience. Our table shared the Cantina dip with chorizo and the camarones fundidos which were both delicious. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and were a good size.
I had the birria tacos which were recommended by the waiter. They were excellent and came with two dipping sauces. The chips and salsa were very fresh. The salsa had a nice smoky flavor and is made in-house as are many of the other ingredients. We spoke to the manager and told him that this is definitely our new go-to Mexican restaurant. Really very good! Give it a try. I think I’ll try the fish tacos next go-around.
The menu is diverse, offering both authentic and fusion dishes. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Visited 9/13/24 I ordered the pick two with beef. The meat tasted weird. The rice was good. The other meal was the Pasadena tacos. They stuff the tacos with french fries. He loved it! The bar was separate from the dining room.

OH MY GOSH! Best Mexican food in Fredericksburg by far. I got the birria tacos and they were great. The rice was literally to die for which sounds dramatic but is true. I even had leftovers the next day and they were just as good. The owner supports the community so much and does great work for the schools when given the opportunity. PLEASE go and support this local business!

It was Taco Tuesday, so I tried a vegetable, beef and shrimp taco with rice and beans. The tacos are small but full of goodness. If I get the vegetable taco again I’ll ask for less peppers and hope for more zucchini, but ultimately they were all good. The drinks looked good too although I didn’t have any tonight, I might come back at a later time.
