My partner and I came here, after wandering around Valletta. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and were sat quickly. I had the chicken escalope, it was very good and was served with some beautifully roasted potatoes.
If you visit, it is a lovely spot and I would recommend it. I think we showed up around 6/6.30 so it looked a bit quiet at first, but I think people in Malta may just eat dinner later than I am used to, as the restaurant was soon flooded with customers shortly after our arrival. So don’t judge it if it looks quiet when you look in.
Thank you to the staff for an excellent dinner

I was really looking forward to trying the food here, as I had read many great reviews from Italian people. I ordered the pasta with ragu di coniglio, and it was truly wonderful — perfect flavor, well made, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We were treated well, but the only downside was that we waited almost an hour to get our pasta, even though the restaurant was nearly empty.

By far the best food we had in Malta — so much so that we came here twice, and we don’t usually repeat restaurants while travelling. We couldn’t understand why it wasn’t busier (tucked away location probably), but the chef and owner are both Italian, and it shows in the quality of the ingredients, execution of the food, and quality of the wine (the house wines were excellent to the point we were taking photos of the labels, and the pours very generous).
The salt crusted branzino was unbelievable, and the salmon, vodka sauce, and lemon pasta were all delicious. It put all the 4.8 star restaurants in Valletta we tried earlier in the week to shame. And the prices were super reasonable for the quality.
Owner doesn’t speak great English but will make sure you have a top notch experience.

Restaurant with fresh Italian food like we haven’t seen in a long time. The quality of the flavors and food is excellent, and the attention from the staff is very warm and attentive! We will definitely come back many more times.

What caught my eye were 2 men sitting on the street outside chatting who I sidestepped and in doing so caught sight of a largish sign inside the Undercroft Ristorante Italiano & Cocktails that said “We don’t serve pizza!!!”. There are so many thoughts you can have about that board but what you won’t think is why haven’t I been to this place before. Eating here means going to church and if that’s a problem tell yourself you are looking for pizza and read the board again. If, and I suspect this, you want Italian, by an Italian, in an unusual setting and you like things that swim or have stuck to large rocks in seawater, then this is the place for you. My hosts were wonderful, funny, chatty, attentive and a pleasure to be served by. The food (spaghetti with crab, purple ravioli, grilled octopus with mashed potatoes) perfect. I tried the daiquiri cocktail and that got me giggling, I’d say a lot of cane rum and not much else and I didn’t complain. Give this place a try and remember “no pizza”.

Not the best bruschettas I had, but it was good. Maybe if the bread was toasted with a little olive oil it would be better. The carbonara was really nice, a bit salty, but I understand it can be the result of the ingredients itself. The staff were very friendly, always verifying the satisfaction, lovely. I recommend the place.

Not in the popular eating district of Valetta but worth the extra five minute walk. Absolutely delicious and so much cheaper.

Authentic italian restaurant. We went there in august for dinner. We had two virgin mojito before dinner and then we ordered two seafood linguine. Everything was perfect, fish very fresh and super tasty. Suggested! Price was also good considering the quality of the food and the location: 50€ for two, with water and glass of wine. Unfortunately there were no cannoli, we will try that next time. Friendly staff.

This restaurant has the best food in Valletta. The restaurant is Italian but the menu has more than that. I had the ribeye steak and it was amazing. My wife had lemon pasta that was delicious. They also brought out a basket of fresh bread. For starters we had the bruchetta with wine. To top it off we had limoncello. We loved it so much we are going back tomorrow. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good Italian food and wine. The food has been generally good everywhere we’ve been in Malta but this was certainly the best meal we had. The wine was very good as well. It is in an interesting location under the Anglican Cathedral. We went at 7pm and I was surprised the restaurant wasn’t busier. A bit of a hidden treasure.
