Cute little cafe with a good size menu. Eggs were fine. Bacon was good. Oatmeal pancakes could have been cooked a little more. No real maple syrup. Good self serve coffee – no espresso or fancy coffee drinks. My friend got the chicken sandwich and said it was good not great

We decided to stop here for breakfast before hitting the backcountry trail! They had a big selection and the food was delicious! We will definitely be coming back! The service was pretty quick also

The food was good, but the lady taking the orders never smiled or welcomed anyone in the line in front of us. I know it was busy and she’s probably tired but still, a little courtesy goes a long way. At least make me feel welcomed in your establishment. I would go back, but not until I try some of the other options in town.

We almost did not come to this place as we read through a few negative reviews. After reading further, we saw other favorable reviews and came the conclusion that the harsh reviews were due to personal price sensitivity or fast food expectations. First, the atmosphere is very relaxing! The staff were very attentive and kind people who do a really good job. The breakfast I had was delicious and cooked perfectly. It’s sometimes hard for places to get eggs cooked perfectly to order, but they do a fantastic job! We spent a portion of our morning here on our way out of town and I wish we could have stayed longer. I will most assuredly be back next time I am in town. Wonderful!

I’m going to add a review to all the other reviews citing very rude customer service AND state that I also leave positive reviews for businesses when I get great customer service.
We stopped by the ironically named Heart & Soul Cafe so my friend could get breakfast and we could both get coffee before heading to the trailhead. Most of the interaction was between the elderly lady working the counter and my friend – I was mostly an observer. My friend asked her a couple questions, and she was undeservedly dismissive and condescending and obviously did not feel any compunction to provide any level of service to us whatsoever. She basically told us that we should get breakfast down the road at a gas station. Meanwhile, she was very friendly and warm with a couple folks in the restaurant whose names she knew – we took them to be locals that ate there a lot – so she is capable of good customer service but didn’t seem to want to give it to us. After my friend ordered, I asked for a cup of coffee and she was just as rude to me as she was to him. When his breakfast order was ready, she brought it to the table and set it down – he said “thank you” and she made no reply – just turned and walked away. It seemed to both of us that she was happy to take our money but didn’t want us there. I was very impressed with my friend’s level of self-control and politeness, despite her surly attitude.
Even though the food was decently good, if you’re from out of town or look at all like you might be “different” from what (I took to be) the owner’s idea of “acceptable people” – I would highly recommend avoiding this place. Maybe if her business starts suffering a little from her attitude, she’ll make an adjustment.

Where to start? They advertise sausage gravy with their biscuits & gravy but that’s not what you get as the picture will show you. They are cordial, but not really friendly. You order at the counter and have to come back in for refills of water & coffee. Which are the only things you get free refills of. You get one piece of toast, a side of bacon is only 3 pieces. The ham they gave me was slightly thicker than a piece of paper. Everything tasted ok, but just ok. At least everything was clean.

The food here is exactly what you’d expect a home cooked meal to taste like. When I received my eggs benedict, the first thing I looked for when cutting into it was does the yolk run without the outer egg white falling apart? It didn’t. They were made perfectly and served with well seasoned country style potatoes. Nothing was scalding hot or less than room temp. The French toast sticks served as an excellent desert following the savory meal. The staff was great. We were greeted by a sweet old lady who may or may not have been the owner. Overall great environment, great restaurant.
