Dovetail Cafe has become absolutely central to Duluth’s community and culture. It cannot be missed. They have great healthy hearty food that’s a good value, and gluten free options, including baked treats. Get breakfast, join a fun community event, get a drink in the afternoon, take a class a the folk school. Excellent coffee drinks, meticulously crafted and served with love and kindness.

Great food, very cool and laid back atmosphere. You order, pick a seat and they bring you the food and you bus the dishes. There’s so much to look at and explore. The staff are very kind. The drinks are delicious, we ordered mocha and an iced chocolate Chai latte. They are spendy but it’s all local and natural ingredients and a small business so it is worth it!

The quiche was amazing! I’ve only had quiche once before, but this blew me away with how good it was. And the side salad that comes with it has such a good dressing that pairs perfectly with the quiche to balance the meal out. I got the meat quiche which was perfect, my partner got the veggie one, and although still good it wasn’t as good as the meat one in my opinion, it may have needed more salt or something. I had a dirty chai here and it was one of the best I’ve ever had, they’ve got some really good espresso.

Dovetail is a pillar of this community. Not only do they have amazing food and drinks, they also have so many community classes, workshops and events for everyone. I love this space they have created. It is truly unlike any other cafe or event space in northern Minnesota. 12/10, friendly staff, lots of space to write, have lunch or attend an art class. My favorite event is speed friending. Would recommend

Easily my favorite cafe and hangout spot in Duluth. Aside from the delicious food, tasty and creative drinks using local real ingredients, welcoming atmosphere, fun events, and beautiful decor and environment, the real star is the workers and the way they are unashamed to speak the truth in trying times. I’ve never had a bad experience here and it’s always the first place I recommend.

This is a wonderful place and we are lucky to have this in our community, as well as the Duluth Folk School. The cappuccino I had today was delicious. I have had their quiche and it was amazing. This establishment has a fun and welcoming vibe, and interesting and unique activities. Today it was sea shanty singing and open mic.

When people say they want third spaces, this café is the kind of space I think about. The staff is friendly, and I love that it has art and goods from local artists. Not to mention, they host the Duluth Folk School! I got the Dovetailer latté and loved it. This is a lovely, cozy space supporting its community.
