I had to update my previous 5 star review to 1 star. The friendly waitress and staff apparently no longer work here. We had such a horrible experience here today, we will never return or recommend.

Past review:
We had a wonderful Sunday dinner here after church! We all loved the garlic bread, salad, lasagna and eggplant parmesan! Also, friendly waitress and staff! Kids rated it 5 stars, two thumbs up and their favorite Italian restaurant! Will definitely return often! 🙂

Delicious and flavorful with great presentation! The dishes that were recommended by the Chef (owner?) were on point. Homemade pasta, dressing, and sauces were all excellent! Friendly waitress, fast service, clean and homey atmosphere. Very reasonably priced for the portion size and quality of the food. We are from out of town, and Mama Mia’s is a hidden gem in the sea of fast food restaurants that were our other options after a long day of traveling to Murphy.

Just moved to Murphy and my parents brought me here as they love this place. I had the lasagna. Delicious! My dad had the sausage and peppers over homemade pasta with marinara sauce. Again, Delicious! Ilene, our server, was super friendly and gave fantastic service. I loved their homemade raspberry vinegarette salad dressing. We sat outside and it’s located in a very nice little area with hometown feel. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

We were passing through going back to Trussville AL. I think they were considering closing early because they had no customers either because it was Labor Day or people did not realize they were open for the holiday. It certainly was not because of the food. It was about 8PM. I told Autumn, the waitress, that it was no problem for us to eat somewhere else so they could go home. I was very impressed that she made us feel welcome rather than making us feel like we were keeping her from getting off early. Even the cook Pete came out and encouraged us to eat there.
Their attitude alone made us want to eat there whenever we are in the area. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and said they were very good. I had the Chicken Parmesan. Autumn suggested that I have the pasta with homemade Alfredo sauce as my side. It’s always refreshing to go somewhere where the waitress is actually familiar with the food that is served. It was absolutely the best sauce I have ever had. I will definitely get the Chicken Alfredo whenever we have the privilege to go there again. The chicken parmesan was also amazing, probably the best I ever had. The price was very reasonable also. It was a good experience all the way around. The food was exceptional but even more exceptional were the attitudes of Autumn and Pete.
Thank you and may God bless you as you bless others.

This restaurant is the BEST Italian place we have ever been to. We came up from Columbus, Georgia to stay in a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains. One night we went out to the casino and wanted some dinner first. We stumbled across this little Italian Place on google and decided to try it.

I’m so glad we did! Every single thing we got was absolutely amazing. The owner IS the chef and DAMN can he cook!! We got the Alfredo Nachos TO DIE FOR. The salads were delicious. Then I got The Tour of Italy so I could try a little of everything. The portion was HUGE and I ate it for 2 days. It was amazing every time I ate it!! My boyfriend got lasagna and I ate some of that too!!!

Seriously, this place is a DIAMOND in the rough. The most amazing Italian food I’ve ever had. If you are in the area you should definitely come to Mama Mia’s!!!

It’s a great Italian restaurant, with pleasant staff and food. If I had any complaints it would be that they change up the menu frequently and removed some food I like.

2/14/18 update: They now no longer have Calamari. While they still have food I enjoy they seem to frequently redact my favorites from the menu.

We saw all these good reviews on yelp so decided to try this place. We hoped it was as good as Aldo’s used to be back in the day. We must have picked a bad night a Monday to be exact. Place was a mess they looked to be understaffed and our hostess/waitress had the personality of a rock, like she didn’t want to be there. Doesn’t tell us they are out of some items until after we get drinks, and then with no tact just says we’re out of a couple of their signature items. My wife was going to opt for the chopped salad but an Italian restaurant with no red wine vinegar. She does not like Balsamic . When my wife asked if they had red wine vinegar, the answer NO without explanation. Asked if we could speak with an owner because we travel a lot and sometimes staff may not realize they have another vinegar besides balsamic. She told us then she was part owner which was hard to be believe with the attitude. Asked if we could speak to the chef NO he’s busy there was us and another table. Should have left but figured we would try what we ordered which was OK at best. So we asked to speak to the chef again and she goes why is it about the red wine vinegar, not knowing if we wanted to complement the food, only to be told again NO he’s busy. This was or first time and last time there. My advise after being a business owner for 20 yrs in the Mountains, is for the other part owner to maybe have a word with the so called other part owner about her lousy attitude before she runs more business off.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Delightful tiny place with great food. Meatballs were delicious. Bread was great. Said they would deliver to Andrews for a $30 check. Great experience.

Amazing food! Balances flavors, appropriate servings. Beautiful presentation and wonderful, personal service. This place is unpretentious and comfortable. The food speaks for itself and for the undeniable skill in the kitchen. We will be back!

Amazing pasta dishes. A little pricey but the staff is great. They remember you and your preferences. I recommend the Truffle Mac and Cheese or the Ravioli Mama Mias. They also know how to actually make some bomb eggplant parm. I come here twice a month.
