First time visiting and what a treat! Grab a scoop of delicious ice cream (banana rocky road is highly recommended) and be prepared to feel like you’ve stepped back in time… Welcome to the beatiful lobby of an old hotel, complete with original mosaic floors, marble top front desk, huge chandeliers, even a piano. I’ve seen this building for decades, empty. It was truly a treat to go inside. I love the new life it’s been given! There’s plenty of seating (I read a comment that there wasn’t any place to sit). There’s so much opportunity here… What a great space! Weddings? Holiday, birthday or retirement party? Great Gatsby! I feel a theme party coming on! ALL THIS AND ICE CREAM?!?! I’M IN LOVE!

Richard’s Ice Cream is one of our favorite stops in Rio Vista! It’s a charming little shop with so much character and the friendliest staff. My kids absolutely love it here… Banana Rocky Road and Lemon Custard are the clear favorites in our house! The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere feels like a sweet little step back in time. If you’re anywhere near Rio Vista, definitely make time for a treat at Richard’s!

LOVE this place. The young man who seems to work here often is a very pleasant high school student & hard worker. The icecream is very delicious. There are so many flavors to choose from… my favorite so far is the Thai tea and the banana rocky road.

We really like this place… as ice cream lovers who usually travel to get treats, it’s nice to have this place right in town. Lots of flavors and different items to choose from, and the portions are very large for the price. Beautiful inside decor, too, with plenty of seating.

Ordered a scoop of peach ice cream and coconut pineapple. Coconut and pineapple had very little flavor and the peach had no flavor at all, it was just something cool on a hot day. Sorry but I won’t go out of my way to revisit again.
