If you’re craving authentic New Orleans flavor without the trip to Louisiana, Nuttin Betta is the place to be! This laid-back seafood spot perfectly captures the spirit of the Big Easy vibrant, flavorful, and full of heart.
My wife absolutely loved her entrée, the Betta Trio, which came with three small plates Red Beans, Crawfish Étouffée, and Gumbo plus golden, crispy Hush Puppies. Each dish had its own distinct flavor, but the Gumbo was easily her favorite, rich and perfectly seasoned. You could taste the passion behind every bite du bon manger (good eating) at its best!
I went with the Nuttin Trio, which included a Catfish Fillet, three Wings, Popcorn Shrimp, Small Fries, and two Hush Puppies. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with Louisiana flavor.
And let me tell you the Kool-Aid was the cherry on top! Sweet, refreshing, and mixed just right, it was the perfect complement to an already outstanding meal.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the staff is attentive, and the prices are great (especially with their military discount, which is always appreciated).
Nuttin Betta truly lives up to its name from start to finish, this was an unforgettable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back for more of that real-deal New Orleans flavor.
— Du bon manger, indeed!

Nuttin Betta truly lives up to its name! This laid-back seafood spot serves up some of the best Southern-style comfort food around. We ordered the catfish platter, lemon pepper wings, chicken tenders, dirty rice, and shrimp, and everything was incredibly delicious, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right.
Even though we picked up our order to go, the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. The restaurant is filled with fun decor and the amazing aroma of grilled and fried seafood hits you right away. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food and their atmosphere.
If you’re craving NOLA-style seafood or just great Southern flavor, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

First time having real Louisiana food and it was the best meal I’ve had in a long while.
Wonderfully designed interior, good music playing, and football on the TV.
I got catfish bayou plate, with mac and cheese extra side. Everything was perfection. Wish I had the empty stomach/time to eat more.
I’m not from San Antonio but next time I’m there, I’m bringing the family here for sure!

When you order some gumbo, you should expect a real roux just like this! Only natives of Louisiana could’ve mastered it this way! We’ve ordered twice in the last two weeks and now we’re regulars‼️ Authentic, delicious and you can tell they made your food out of a true passion for food. It’s absolutely delicious

My husband had heard about Nuttin Betta New Orleans Seafood so we finally decided to make the drive in San Antonio evening traffic on a Friday to try them out. Although Nuttin Betta is a small restaurant it was very clean. We were greeted when we entered with smiles, upbeat attitudes and music; the vibe was very reminiscent of NOLA. We took how busy they were as a good sign that the food was going to be good and it was! No appetizers this round but will definitely be trying those boudin balls next time. We thoroughly enjoyed the Fruit punch Koolaid Lemonade! It was quite refreshing and not over sweetened with sugar! Tasted like the Koolaid my Mom would make on Sunday to serve with dinner. I could drink it everyday all day! The menu is typical of what you would expect of a Nee Orleans seafood restaurant: Seafood Boils, Gumbo, etc. The very nice couple sitting next to us was enjoying their Gumbo and yes, it looked authentic; dark roux and all. What I loved about their menu is that you could get all the dishes fried, grilled or blackened. Talk about versatility! Hubby had the Signature Dish – Grilled and he loved it! I had the Catfish and Shrimp – Fried; that came with two sides and I chose Fries and Fried Okra. (Loved that they didn’t look at me funny when I said I wanted my Fish and Okra Extra Crispy. Kudos!) I loved it! The Okra was seasoned and they served traditional seasoned, cornmeal battered catfish; no Swai here! Yeah baby! Think I found my new spot for Fish Fry Friday! We were too full to get dessert but will take some Peach Cobbler and Bread Pudding home next time. The prices were very reasonable, which is a blessing in this economy. Did I mention the awesome customer service? Outstanding! Even though it was very busy the staff stayed polite and professional. I highly recommend Nuttin Betta New Orleans Seafood! We will definitely be regulars!

Love the artwork and music choice for the restaurant, gives a nice vibe. The kool-aid had the sweetness I was looking forward too. The catfish came out hot and fresh, perfectly fried, but lacking a little flavor. The hush puppies were also fried perfectly and seasoned well. The red beans and rice have FLAVOR and a great texture; My favorite dish from this experience. The Mac and cheese wasn’t my preference, I would prefer more cheesy. Overall, would definitely visit again to try some more of their soul food, they have seafood boils as well.

Here is the best Cajun food I have ever had. From New Orleans to Houston nothing better can beat Nuttin Betta as the place to go. My wife and I both had the Betta Trio and got ettufee, red beans and rice, gumbo, dirty rice and hush puppies. The food was so good we were still talking about it an hour later. The building seems like whole in the wall, but you would be wrong. Clean and bright with great themed decor that made me feel like I was in the right spot when we came looking for Cajun cooking. The staff we amazing too, with a level of hospitality that made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We ate until we could barely eat another bite, and were still looking at fish for the next trip back. An affordable place with fair portions made me glad to have stopped in. Come by any and everyone for food that is full of flavor, and warm your soul.

First and foremost, I would like to say that we waited in the parking lot for a little over 36 minutes just so that we can support a black business. I will say that the guy with the gold in his mouth came to the door and let us know that they did not open until noon and then when we walked in, he did apologize for the wait so he was good customer service. However, the gentleman at the counter was not. I explained to him what I wanted, I told him that I had never been to their establishment and I wanted the signature picture on the outside of the restaurant with the grilled shrimp We also ordered a Friday fried fish special. The wait time was not excessively long, but it was long giving that we were amongst the first people to order so once the food was ready, they gave us our bags. I walked to the car and I opened it and to my surprise it was not grilled fish. It was fried fish, so I took it back in and explained to him that this is not what I ordered. I ordered grilled fish. His response was it comes fried and you have to tell us that you want it grill now earlier I told you that I told him I wanted the picture on the outside with the grilled shrimp so that’s me specify that I want grill After I told him that his response was, he don’t know what’s on the picture outside of the restaurant never apologized never took accountability. Ask for my plate back. They went on to prepare the plate again and this is the result. The pictures below not only did the food come out burnt. It stinks like burnt and it’s very small portions that you get from this place and on top of that, the food was not to my desired liking and I’m a leave it at that… It’s like they take a spoon of rice and thin it out on the bottom then they put the small piece of burnt fish on with these medium thick burn burnt shrimp and the thick supposedly crawfish étouffée. Let me add. I have never had New Orleans food that taste this horrible it’s an edible so that was a waste of $23 and on top of that they have poor customer service not one time did they apologize for the inconvenience ,offer something to drink, nothing so I will not be returning there and I will let others know about my experience and how tacky the service was and how disgusting the food was

Ordered the #11 combo that included wings, fried catfish, shrimp, hushpuppies and fries…added okra and a cup of red beans and rice
The food was hot and delicious. I am from the deep south where food is plentiful and flavorful. This restaurant comes close to being perfect!! The fish was crispy, hot and seasoned. The shrimp were not overcooked and battered well. The fries were plentiful and hot. Red beans were seasoned well even without meat in them. The okra came out seasoned and hot. The wings were not my personal favorite but its not because of the restaurant I just chose to try something different. The sweet tea was just like home. It was sweet enough and strong enough! Perfect combination for a good ole southern fish fried meal!
The service was great. They checked on your periodically and the food was brought out by a lovely smiling worker.
Con: location may seem off putting however I didn’t have any issues
Table cloth was torn on the bottom and looking to have wasted hot sauce on it
Suggestions for ownership…have staff to refill condiments nightly for esthetics
I will definitely be back! Tell your friend and family to go support them. They won’t be disappointed!

This is a wonderful Cajun and comfort food restaurant (I grew up with Cajun and Gulf Coast cuisine) with a lot of seafood options. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food, especially the jambalaya and grilled shrimp.
Our friends shared the Seafood Platter and they raved about everything in the platter.
As far as my rating for service and atmosphere, the service and wait time for food could have been a little faster, but there was a large group that ordered right before us. It’s a small place with one or two servers which are probably sufficient the vast majority of the time. The atmosphere is family oriented and there are some cool decorations.
Ultimately, the food quality is paramount here and well worth the visit.
We will definitely be back.
