My coworkers invited me out for dinner here to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was bustling but that didnt take away from the great service. Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed at all times throughout our visit. I ordered the Coctel Camarones (shrimp cocktail) and it was delicious. The presentation was beautiful. For drinks I had one Cantarito (delicious!) and one Dirty Horchata (so good!) Highly recommend this restaurant, love the lively ambiance.

I have used El Viejon twice now for big events in my life: once for my wedding’s after party and once this past week for my son’s first birthday! Both times, people raved about the food. They are always so good and the price is unbeatable. My favorite tacos in Toledo!

Gotta give credit where credit is due! We were greeted and seated immediately. Our free chips and salsa hit the table before we had our coats off. The food was amazing and there was plenty! Exceptional service!! We walked out of there totally stuffed and at a very reasonable price! We’ll be back.

My friends and I decided to try EL Viejon on a busy Saturday night, prepared for the usual weekend wait. To our surprise, we were greeted with a smile and immediately seated! We spotted a high-top table in the bar area and the host happily accommodated our request.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with traditional Mexican design elements like bright murals and just the right amount of lighting. It felt festive but not overwhelming.
The menu was extensive, but we couldn’t resist diving into the drink menu first. I opted for a peach margarita on the rocks, while my friends chose the coconut margaritas. All three were absolutely delicious – flavorful and perfectly mixed!
For food, I went with the chicken burrito and two birria tacos. My friends also ordered the birria tacos, and we all agreed they were the best in town! The tacos were generously filled, and the consommé sauce was out of this world.
Our server was fantastic, attentive, and always smiling. Their positive attitude added to the overall wonderful experience. We left feeling full, happy, and like we had just shared a meal with family.
EL Viejon exceeded our expectations. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Mexican food, amazing drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. We can’t wait to go back!

Went to try a neighboring restaurant, but did not like their menu and ended up here. I sure am glad I did not like their menu cause this place was great. Was greeted promptly and friendly, and I was seated immediately. The menu was vast. We got beef and cheese dip for appetizer, which was really good. My eyes started drooling as soon as I saw the pizza-birra. This thing was a loaded meat pie, massive. The salsas and dipping sauce were great. The wife had a street taco Supreme. It was high quality. I will definitely be making a return trip here soon.

The first time I went I thought I got lucky. The second time I couldn’t believe it happened twice. The third time I knew we found a gym. The drinks are great. The service is great. The food is amazing. From the fajitas to the carnitas to the enchiladas to the chichangas I haven’t eaten something less than a 5/5. The servings are insane for the price you pay. Must visit

Didn’t eat at the restaurant but I doordashed from here for the first time and THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Hands down the best rice I’ve had, flavor was on point. Tacos were delicious, the salsa & dips were great too!!
