My Point Of View
I am so thankful Tyler Mountain BBQ has a new home in the Katy Cafe in Checotah Ok. This little gem of a restraunt is worth exiting and getting off the highway to go find.
The food is top quality, I have not found one thing I have not enjoyed eating. And they are always trying new things and sharing with the customers to get their feedback.
If you like a little heat, ask them to kick it up a bit. No problem!
I have tried, the Tri-tip, the sausage, the pulled pork, the ribs, the shrimp, the baked beans, the homemade chips, the cabbage and the BBQ Dirty Rice. I can recommend all 100%!
Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped by for dinner and was very pleased. I got the 4 meat sampler with bologna, ribs, tritip, and turkey with smoked cabbage and beans with pork. The tri tip was definitely my favorite. The ribs and bologna were very good too. I don’t usually like turkey but the owner recommended it. It was the first turkey I had in recent memory that I liked. If you like turkey definitely try it and if you don’t like turkey still try it you will not be disappointed. The smoked cabbage was excellent and I was full by the time I got to the beans so they will be leftovers. Definitely worth a stop by.

This was fantastic! The ribs were juicy and the Texas Twinkies were phenomenal – you’ll have to look them up because my words would fall short. I could eat a whole plate of those alone. We went on a Sunday and tried everything they had available including brisket, chicken, ribs, catfish, grilled shrimp, green beans, mashed potatoes & gravy, rice, German chocolate cake, and of course those Texas Twinkies.
