Wow. We picked up coffee and couldn’t help but step into this bake shop. Getting off the highway is a nice treat sometimes. Do it. This shop didn’t disappoint either. So polite. Southern hospitality. Yummy cookie and mini dozen cupcakes. Very pleased. Glad we know where to stop on the way. Yeah! And all the holiday decorations are up. Wonderful

You can smell the sugary goodness as soon as you get near the building. From home made cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, Chantilly cups and candy to custom cakes Mrs Short does it all and is probably the best in Lucedale. I can not recommend Shortcakes enough.

The owners were wonderful and so was the staff. It felt like walking through my childhood seeing my great grandmother again. The German chocolate cupcake was like a memory from back then. My kids enjoyed their cheesecakes and Chantilly cup. My husband enjoyed his cinnamon roll. Thank you♡

We dropped off the highway in search of some BBQ and were delighted to find this great bakery next door. We needed cake to celebrate my grand daughter’s birthday at the beach that night. They put the cake in the freezer to help preserve the frosting for the trip. Everyone LOVED the chocolate layer cake!! Thanks for making a little girl so happy. Excellent quality! Nice crumb and delicious!
