Our waitress took amazing care of us. Food was 12/10. This place deserves more customers! Shout out to the nachos SMOTHERED in queso. One of the best restaurants in Fort Atkinson. They are remodeling and making the place more aesthetic for 2026. Highly recommend!

We love to carry out from El Patron! Dining in is good, too! But it just happens to be one of our few go-to carry out spots in town.

Why is no one talking about their tortas? It was really good, like not a bad follow up to one of my new faves in Madison good. I intended to share the torta (carnitas! recommend!) but devoured most of it in my own. My only regret is that I couldn’t eat it all. I’m already figuring out how to justify an El Patron torta two days in a row.

Kids love the rice and beans here, they like the tacos and chicken enchiladas, and they love that the queso appetizer is thicker and cheesier compared to other area spots. They package everything up really well, food is ready quick and piping hot.

Favorite dine-in Mexican joint in town! Service is kind and efficient, food is consistent. What more could you want? Maybe better house salsa, but it’s also likely the more oregano flavor profile is a welcome change to others. So nonissue! Oh I know! I think their chile rellenos could be a bit better, they can be a little too greasy. I’d like to see plain (not the stuffed) chile rellenos offered as a meal. They don’t like to do two chile rellenos on the build your combo, so please just offer an entree. So see, really no real complaints at all, lol! We love the food here and like the staff for dining in and they’re good with carry out, too. They always pack items with a lot of care and pay attention to special request especially well. Kudos el patron staff!!

Went here to socialize with friends so I wasn’t in foodie mode—sorry not many pictures.

Margaritas were big and mixed well. On a hot night they went down well—and they were the featured drink of the night.

It is a more authentic Mexican menu, but they took the heat out. Add your own with hot sauce or jalapeños on the side.

It is unusual to have so many condiments and al la carte items that you can order on the side, but you can tailor your dish to your taste.

My shredded chicken chimichanga was a great portion. I didn’t eat lunch so I had room for this all at 6:00pm. Not a fried and crispy chimichanga, but just in long enough to cook the ingredients. I’d recommend this dish! My wife had burrito verde and again a large portion for the price.

While I’d consider them busy for a Tuesday, we were attended well and food was hot. My only criticism is the chips and salsa needs to have a salsa with more heat as an option!! Be authentic!! 🙂

I haven’t been here in a number of years. This time I had my 3 young children. The waitress took our order and or food came out very quickly. They have a small kids menu and a large menu for adults. The food was very good. The employees were also very kind. I will definitely be going back. Keep up the good work guys!!

Wonderful food, easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Wisconsin area, service was very friendly. Yes there might have been a bit of a wait but there is a single cook and single server so the people who complain that the service was slow are kinda being nitpicky. The wait was worth it very much (sorry for no photos I ate all my food before writing this)

Service was slow, but the owner was the only person working at the time. He was trying, can’t say he was not. But the food could be better than microwave food as it tasted. Heat and Serve. The shrimp cocktail cold was tasty, but the beef tostadas (pricey) were too wet that you could not lift them. Have not been back since. Very Clean and plenty of parking.

The food and service were decent, but the tables have carvings that are covered by glass. The glass on our table was broken and the edges were filled with crumbs.
Update: Came back with some friends and everyone was very happy with the food and service. Maybe my first time there was just not a good day?

My family and I have been customers however we don’t dine in anymore since the Manager/Owner guy made a negative comment about my weight when I’m only 135ibs. Anyways, some time passed and we decided to order carry out. We ordered a few things and began eating. The chile rellenos were the saddest worst chiles we have ever seen. And being a Hispanic family, we have ate these before at other restaurants and know how they should be cooked. They were not appealing at all however we did spend a good amount of money on our meal so we decide to give them the benefit of the doubt! So we take a bite and they tasted like straight up MOLD!!! So I spit mine out and I see my mom try it and she quickly spits hers out too! It was disgusting. We called and the bigger manager/owner guy was rude too when we might end up getting food poisoning now!!!
