Sawara offers a more modern and casual sushi experience compared to traditional upscale sit-down sushi restaurants. Chef Cai’s journey in the culinary world began at 17 in US sushi restaurants. With vast experience as a Head Chef, he aimed to make high-quality sushi more accessible. Partnering with his brother-in-law Chef Danny, they opened Sawara to realize their vision. We offer only 10 types of fish to ensure fast rotation for maximum freshness and quality. We provide a variety of cooked sushi rolls for non-sushi lovers and newcomers, with dedicated gluten-free and vegetarian menus. I absolutely love this place! The people here are always so nice and inviting every time! They always say “thank you see you next time” which is very friendly and a nice touch! The food was also very good I got the California rolls and teriyaki chicken as well as the dumplings and it was top tier! Overall the service is fast and efficient and you are in a warm and inviting atmosphere but whole time! 5 stars! Would go to everyday if I could!

Horrible service. I’ve been a customer for the last two years. They messed up my order. I drove 25 minutes and brought them the order they gave me which was wrong. So I can get my order. The “owner” and older asian man said he would remake my roll another day. I showed up to redeem my order that was supposed to be remade and they told me it was my fault. These guys don’t do good business and said they refuse me from going here again. I will gladly never return as I have spent hundreds of dollars here. Be aware of racial profiling. The owner responded so I would like to update as well. The “Over whelming evidence” they have is me leaving with a bag of Sushi which I paid for! Upload the video! You never see the table with the bags of sushi on them. How about you hand the food to the customers instead of setting it on a table? Such a joke. Show the video of you handing it to me. But I’m the one making false accusations.

At the same time, there was another order on the table , a larger brown bag with handles, stapled closed, and with an Uber Eats receipt attached. Unfortunately, you mistakenly took that bag instead of your own. (Make sure you grab the right bag guys cause if you don’t they will blame you! Also the bag I grabbed had KJ written on it in permanent marker I told that to the lady when she called me I will pull the transcripts of the call and upload that as well)

Sawara is the absolute best sushi restaurant we have frequented in the Denver metro area in terms of quality of food and service. Sawara feels like home. You must give them a try! You will not be disappointed.

Will always be our favorite sushi place! They’re fast, friendly, and their food is delicious, for such a low price. The owners make us feel like family every time we eat there, too. I don’t think I will ever go to another sushi place in Colorado! I recommend the sushi burrito, the go willy, and the miso soup.

Ordered through DoorDash, I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my fav sushi spot.
I was impressed with my sashimi! Fish was fresh and melted in my mouth! My yellowtail jalapeño app had a sweeter sauce than I am used to, I prefer just a light yuzu sauce, but I still enjoyed it. My husband didn’t care for his chicken fried rice but absolutely loved his dragon roll.
I can’t comment on ambiance or service as this review is based on a take out order.
With all that said I will definitely order sashimi and rolls here again but avoid the fried rice next time.

Food and service has been always been great every time we order from here. Never actually eat-in here, but each time we order take out the food has been delicious. Always get the sushi tray because give more bang for your buck.

Sawara is the BEST sushi place in Castle Rock. Fresh, thick cuts of fish and the staff are extremely friendly and wonderful. My wife and I are gluten free, and it’s the only place we can get sushi that she’ll like. There’s SO MANY gluten free options (including sushi burritos)! The staff is always attentive, they make special gluten free sauces and always give us so many gluten free soy sauce packets. I also have to follow a low carb diet, and I always have to choose sashimi. Not anymore at Sawara! Their gluten free Tornado roll is exactly what I need when following a keto diet.
I also was given some fatty salmon with a special gluten free sauce today with my big order and it was very good and so thoughtful to include! I appreciate the staff at Sawara very much.

I’m a bit of a Sushi fanatic and Sawara, in my opinion, is excellent. Everything tastes really fresh and, at this point, I have complete faith that I’ll like anything I get. I encourage anyone to try their signature dishes/rolls, such as the Ahi Tuna Tower or Super Lava. Every one of these that I’ve ordered has been phenomenal. Additionally, my SO has a gluten allergy, and Sawara is quite accommodating for her. They have plenty of gluten-free options, including gluten-free soy sauce. The only downside to Sawara is that it’s not a traditional dine-in restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. This is perfectly fine for me, but if you’re looking for more of a sit-down service meal, this isn’t exactly that.

Admittedly, Sawara is not about the atmosphere, but it is definitely about the food! I cannot find a sushi selection with such great variety and good pricing anywhere in the south metro area! This is my go to for takeout sushi and I never get bored of the menu. The service is fantastic and always with a smile. Highly recommend Sawara for affordable and delicious sushi!
