The last time we were in the area this restaurant was not open (off season) but has since re-opened for the season so we decided to give it a try. It is very pretty building and popular with tourists as well as local Amish families. The restaurant is known for their Austrian and Swedish fare. We ordered the cheese fondue for starters and it has a combination of cheeses, wine and Sherry. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. They even will give you the fondue recipe if you ask. We had the perogies for dinners would definitely order them again. For those who want salad or burgers they were on the menu as well.

The atmosphere was nice and place clean and table areas by the window to few the landscape. The baby Swiss fondue was tasty and the soup was also good. Or server Brian was very kind and did all he could to make sure we enjoyed the food. The German chocolate cake is tasty.

This was our first visit here and the food is very food and the prices are reasonable. The food serving are fairly large, so come hungry. We had the cheese fondue which is very good and I had the bratwurst meal. It was also very good. I wood definitely eat here again.

Shure it’s a bit touristy, but it’s definitely different. Nicely decorated and genuinely good food which represents the region (Bavaria / Switzerland). Had a tasty meal and excellent, friendly service. Would certainly return.

Swiss inspired meals made with the 2019 world champion of cheese. Their local made Swiss cheese in the fondue for 2 is amazing to say the least. Great food and next to a local meat and cheese market which has many tasty treats.

The Jaeger Schnitzel was delish, and the asparagus side with it was super yum. You have to get the fried swiss cheese sticks as an appetizer. Might be the most unique and tasty fried cheese appetizer I’ve ever had.

Make sure you try the mac ‘n cheese as well. So unique.

Oh, and the apple strudel….Good God the apple strudel. Simply….Superb!

While visiting Amish country we stopped in for dinner. We found the food and restaurant to be quaint. We were by far the youngest patrons, considering we are in our late 40’s I would not say this would be of interest to the younger generation.

The food was ok and the desserts were ok. Overall it was a change of pace from the normal. I would probably not return.

On a recent visit to the Millersburg area my husband and I decided to check out Chalet In the Valley. I’m so glad we did! Upon entering we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. We had a window seat with a lovely view of the rolling green hills that surround the area. The dining room was one of the coziest that we have ever eaten in.

We looked over their large menu and decided to start with the cheese fondue. It was amazing! It came to the table all hot and bubbly in a cute little pot over a sterno. It was creamy and buttery and tangy. We could have just made a meal out of this!

For dinner I had the Kase Schnitzel, a veal cutlet with melted swiss. It was great! Tender and crispy and cheesy! I had onion strings and rosti with mine. The onion strings were so tasty. The rosti was good, but could have been cooked more. The flavor was nice, but it wasn’t very crisp.

For dessert I had the turtle cheesecake. I kind of expected it to be a sugar bomb, but it was really balanced. My husband got the apple strudel and practically licked the plate.

Amy was our server and took such great care of us. She was attentive and funny, without being overbearing.

Behind the restaurant is a field with goats! Some are very friendly! I stood at the fence and a couple came right down to visit. How cool is that?!

Chalet is a new destination restaurant for us. We can’t wait to go back again!

Came here for our anniversary while staying in town. We had the fondue for an appetizer and I had the beef brisket with apples and cold potato salad. Everything was great! We had a beautiful view and the ambience was unique. There looked like there was a balcony but there was a sign on the door saying not to go out.

Fantastic Swiss cheese fondue, pretzel bread and dinner! We will definitely come back again! Steak tips and spatzle was so good with the gravy and my hubby loved the ribs.
