My daughter and I tried California Burger for the first time and we enjoyed the food. The cashier was very polite. The chili cheese fries were delicious. I had the California melt for a sandwich. It was a hearty burger with lots of good stuff on it. I would definitely go back.

Fast service and very friendly staff. The food was absolutely amazing. Their burgers are made very presentable too (see my photo) and are absolutely delicious. I live in Toledo, Ohio area and anytime in in Fort Wayne I make it a point to go out of my way for their food. Fry’s were good as well as the ice cream. Good portion sizes for everything we got.

Visited for lunch while I’m town. Pleasantly surprised how clean it was inside. Classic burger joint menu, plenty of options, and they have shakes. The burger was great, fries were ok. They make everything fresh so it takes a bit to get the food. I would visit again.

First and foremost, the gal that was working behind the counter this evening was sweet as can be and helpful. Gave us the menu rundown. Burger and patty melt were good. Surprised the melt had real avocado on it, not green mush from a squeeze bottle. Ice cream/custard was thick and creamy. As far as the atmosphere, it’s like a typical fast food burger joint, but I’m not going there for the atmosphere, I’m going for the food. Order took maybe 10-12 min, but you’re also getting fresh grilled meat and not mass produced warm circle meat, and yes that means it’s a little more pricey than a Mac D’s burger, but worth it. Go on and getcha some.

I had a chance to visit California Burger for lunch with a group of people and I thought it was a fairly usual fast food burger place vibe. Our group thought all of the food was very good. The bacon when placed on a burger or a sandwich really needs to be more on the crispy side. I normally like my bacon on a plate more chewy but on a sandwich you need to be able to just bite right through it. This is confirmation on what I had heard about the bacon on the sandwiches here. The bacon is super chewy so be prepared to have to bite through it really hard or to be pulling the bacon out of the sandwich with your teeth and just eating the slice by itself.
I really like the sauce that’s on just about all of the burgers. It really went well with the bacon, avocado, and lettuce on my sandwich.
Our party ordered the California melt, the avocado bacon with lettuce wrap, and the fish sandwich. We thought everything was very flavorful.
The fries are thick cut crinkle cut fries. I thought the seasoning on the fries was good and they were a nice crispy texture on the outside. I’m just not a huge fan of the thick fries because the inside is more mushy potato. But overall I thought the fries were good.
A word about the low atmosphere rating. There were very few workers seemingly like every place these days so the cleanliness of the place was suffering. It didn’t help that some numbskull decided to walk through the place with boots covered in mud. It’s too bad that the staff wasn’t able to keep up with the cleaning that day but idiots dragging dirt and mud around the restaurant doesn’t help.
Overall I would say everything was great and it will be making a trip back to try some other things.

Delicious burgers and the best milkshakes in Fort Wayne. I always get a fresh banana milkshake. They are thick and offer a lot of unique flavors. I got a California knockout burger with a lettuce wrap in place of a bun. They also wrap their burgers in paper which I think is a nice touch and helps to hold it together.
