I recently hosted a small gathering for a physician at Agave in Suffern, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.
When I first spoke with Isaac, I wasn’t sure how many guests to expect, which made it difficult to plan quantities or decide on the best way to serve everyone. Isaac was incredibly accommodating and walked me through several options, making the entire planning process stress-free. He was approachable, patient, and genuinely helpful.
The private room he provided was absolutely perfect for our gathering. Mario, the bartender, was AWESOME…attentive and made sure every guest was well taken care of. Drinks were always flowing, and the appetizers came out continuously without us ever having to ask.
And the appetizers—simply amazing! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
I could go on about how wonderful the experience was, but if you’re in Suffern, I highly recommend checking out Agave. It’s the perfect spot for hosting an event or simply enjoying a great night out.

We hosted my sister’s 40th birthday at Agave last night and from the moment we booked until the day of the event, everything was absolutely perfect. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS and the service was amazing. I was beyond impressed.
The two Marios behind the bar were incredible, very friendly and attentive, and the female bartender (I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name) was great as well. The owner Isaac went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted. THANK YOU!

We were traveling and happened to find Agave. I’d go out of my way to go back. The margaritas are top notch. Letty was our server and she was extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We let her choose what we got, it was the right choice. This is a must try.

Agave Restaurant and Lounge is a fantastic spot! Parking was a bit tricky at first, but we found a spot quickly. Once inside, we were immediately seated, and the customer service was top-notch. Our waiter was always smiling and had some excellent recommendations. We loved everything we ordered, especially the fried shrimp taco dinner – it was absolutely delicious! The rice was a bit bland, and the beans were just okay, but that fried shrimp taco was a game-changer. The chips and salsa were decent, and the drinks were great – I had the coconut margarita, and my partner ordered a crown with Coke. Both were spot on. Overall, we had an amazing experience and will definitely be back.

My family enjoyed a fabulous dinner over the weekend. Made a reservation through the web site and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. Ordered red sangria (which is probably the best sangria I have ever had!) and guacamole, which was so fresh and seasoned perfectly, as an appetizer. Service was outstanding- friendly, attentive, and efficient. We loved our entrees (chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, cheese and veggie quesadilla, and vegetable burrito), but we ate so much that we couldn’t even think about dessert (we’ll be sure to get that next time). Great neighborhood place- highly recommend.

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and everything was served promptly. We should have turned back when we saw the dirty tables. The tamales were good, but the street taco fillings were terrible: the Al Pastor was burnt to a crisp, the beef was a collection of dry nuggets of tasteless brown and the carnitas were greasy piles of pork flavored steel wool. We left hungry.
There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants out there, but Agave isn’t one of them.

What a great restaurant!! I wanted to take a moment to thank Agave & the owner Issac for going above and beyond with our catering order for my son’s 2nd birthday party. The food was absolutely amazing, and it truly made the event unforgettable. Our 80+ guests couldn’t stop complimenting everything from the flavors to the freshness, and many went back for seconds and thirds! (Almost all the food was gone!)
