I used to love this restaurant and visited frequently. However, I recently had a disappointing experience. I came with a friend and my dog, hoping to sit on the terrace. In Mexico, nearly all restaurants allow pets on their outdoor areas, and many even go out of their way to accommodate pet owners. But here, they refused to seat us, even though there were empty tables. They claimed there was no available space, yet a table was clearly open. It’s unfortunate to feel unwelcome, especially when other establishments are more accommodating.

My experience started off well – good food, nice ambiance, friendly service. Between two people we shared escargot, steak frites and four martinis. When the bill came, we were shocked to have been charged 500 pesos ($30 USD) for EACH martini (to note, they were Bombay and Beefeater — nothing fancy and we were only shown a wine list, not a cocktail menu). I have never — not in New York City, not in London, not anywhere — paid this much for a cocktail. The steak dinner cost less than one martini. When I raised my concern with the waiter, he shrugged me off and said that was the price. It was such a disappointing end to a lovely experience at a restaurant we had hoped to frequent again, and left us feeling taken advantage of. I contacted the restaurant (via the email address on their website) before leaving this review but never heard from them.

Nice place with good service. Food was a bit disappointing for the price paid. We had the salchichón with foie, the artichoke hearts, the duck with Grand Marnier and the creme brulee. The only thing I would order again is the deck, which was very good. The other dishes were just ok.

You that little extra money you spend on the restaurant is clearly displayed in the great food. Maybe not the most trendy place. Nonetheless is worth every penny.

Luxury Mexican food don’t forget to end your meal with a great dessert for example the Santiago tart made of marzipan, it’s truly wonderful.
