Do not let the busy location or parking area of this restaurant deter you from going. Out of all the sushi restaurants I’ve visited across NC (and I have eaten at many), this one is easily my favorite for both flavor and quality. The servers are always kind, and the food comes out quickly, even on busy nights. I’ve been here at least seven times, and the quality of the sushi is consistently excellent. The restaurant is always clean, too. I appreciate a place that clearly values both its food and its service. Highly recommended for any sushi lover.

January 2026 – Everything was absolutely amazing! Salmon lava roll is incredible, my new favourite! The shrimp tempura is excellent and a real spring mix house salad with ginger dressing is one of the best I’ve had! And the service is friendly and impeccable!

While on vacation, we wanted hibachi and found this place online. The inside is really cute with curved booths and a modern aesthetic. The staff are friendly but drag their feet some. The menu offers a good variety but make note the food is not cooked in front of you. The portion size were good and the price point was fair. We got the chicken, steak and shrimp and split a plate and it was more than enough. I give the plate a solid 7.5 out of 10, we did the fried spring rolls and those were a 5 out of 10 they tasted like a frozen spring roll from the grocery store. The potstickers were a hit, I’d give them a 8 outta 10. We did order a sushi and it could have been that I picked the wrong thing but it was sent back, it had a sauce I couldn’t really handle. The waitress was more than happy to remove the item from our bill. Overall, nice place to go check out.

We loved Saku Sushi! The atmosphere was wonderful. The service and other patrons were all very friendly and helpful. There was ample seating, and the service was so prompt that there isn’t a long wait even when there’s a ton of people waiting. The sushi was so fresh. The pad thai was tasty and filling. The only complaint was the table near the door kept us cold during the meal and our food also suffered from the cool temperature. We enjoyed every bite. Our server could have been more attentive, but we didn’t have any issues. The prices were fair in comparison to portion and market price. We will definitely visit again if we are around the area.

The food was tasty, establishment was well spaced and comfy. Good vibes overall. The only thing I can complain about is the prices. $22 for a hibachi meal is insane.
I’m from Raleigh, in Raleigh you could get just as good a hibachi meal flavor and portion wise for $14.

Adventure Encounters
LOVED IT! At first glance, the restaurant looks like a hole in the wall, which generally throws people off. This was not the case for this place! Great service, with delicious food! Looks like it’s newly remodeled and the decor and seating are nice and spacious as well, and as a bonus, they had clean bathrooms! Will be back!
There was ONE CON… the floors were really slippery. Maybe it was because of the cleaner they used on the floor?? I nearly fell flat on my face twice going to the bathrooms… beware!

Decided to get take out for a special New Year’s dinner. Ordered food via the online app. Waiting 35 minutes for pick up was not bad. Unfortunately when I picked up the order I checked it and asked why the portions were so small as I had ordered the dinner entrees not lunch. The food was cold and it was very disappointing. The tofu yellow curry only had onions and no other veggies as described. The rice was hard and cold. The chicken pad Thai was so oily with garlic laden oil no peanut or lime. The food was put into a takeout container that melted on the bottom and the food tasted horrible! Hibachi steak with vegetables and noodles was flavorless and over cooked. What happened to this reliable restaurant! When I mentioned the issue before I left to the service staff they pointed to the receipt saying no refund no reduction. I was so aggravated that I left with the food. We tried to eat some of it and it was horrible . I called the restaurant and all the girl kept saying was no refund no refund. Never again! Big waste of money!! Do not get takeout from Saku Sushi in Rocky Mount!

An unexpected delight. Though it’s located in an ordinary shopping center, Saku Sushi feels cosmopolitan and elegant in contrast. Date-worthy. The staff is attentive and friendly. Massaman curry chicken is one of my favorite dishes, and this is as good as I’ve ever had. My date had the Lobster Roll, a sushi roll and lobster bites with rice. We got eel sauce on the side. It was absolutely delicious and much more than we could eat. Their prices are quite low but everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Will definitely go again and I would even get the Massaman again, which is boring of me, considering they have such a huge variety of favorite Asian and Indian dishes.
