My husband and I had an amazing dinner here. Best sushi in town hands down. Our waitress Sarah was absolutely incredible, so down to earth and answered any questions we had and also made sure we were good. The owner, Miss Maggie came by the table to make sure everything was good, she’s the sweetest lady. Staff is very attentive. Food is delicious and authentic. In SV what more could you ask for? Definitely worth a couple visits. Always sit towards the back, they have so many beautiful artifacts to look at.

Simply extraordinary. We shared the Love Boat and it was more than we could finish, but the freshness, taste, and quality were superb. The table service was fast and friendly and the owner checked in on our table to make sure everything was perfect. We loved this place and will surely return again when in the area.

I always get the katsu curry.. it’s so good. Comes on a pile of rice with a side of lettuce and an orange. The flavor is rich and savory. The pork is fried perfectly and still easy to chew. The owners are amazing. They’re always over friendly, like family friendly. I love coming here.

This is the second time in a year we’ve attempted to support this business. We’ve walked out both times. We’ve visited on a weekend evening and on a Wednesday evening. Both times 2 hours before their advertised closing hours. The first time we were turned away because they were too busy. Today we chose to walk out after we were politely waiting for a table along with a couple that walked in before us. After a few moments of waiting the sushi chef said ‘everyone should just come back tomorrow argh’ as he looked at as all waiting by the door.

The food was authentic and the staff were kind. Prices were fair, especially when you consider how far the fish had to travel. The owner was present and explained he was from Japan originally. That all said, I wasn’t wowed by the sushi. It was good but not great. I felt it had too much rice which detracted from the flavor. I loved the atmosphere and would still go back.

We love going to Tanuki. We have eaten there several times. Service is always friendly. We especially enjoy the sushi rolls (although we do wish we could order sushi to go). They have delicious food and the Las Vegas roll is my favorite. The miso soup is always comforting and delicious as well.

The best and most delicious Japanese food and sushi I have eaten since leaving Japan! A little on the upscale price, but well worth every bite! Definitely a weekly visit from now on. Downside is they don’t do lunch currently.
Update – 11/21/2021: Still the best…took the whole family including the in-laws to dinner. Got plenty of food at a great price. We even had leftovers! Thank you so much for everything. We love it here. Never change!
