Our son, who tends to be picky, LOVED the cochinita pibil torta. He wished there was more of it, which makes a good segway to…
The chips and salsa are really good, BUT not free and there are NO refills.
Our daughter enjoyed her shrimp tacos. It should be noted that tacos run about $5 to $6 EACH, and they do NOT come with the expected rice and beans, etc. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were o.k.
Hubby had the birria enchiladas and said they were quite good! But, the Mexican rice was left uneaten. It’s a STAPLE, please don’t neglect it. It should be flavorful and memorable, like the salsa.
We ordered an al pastor quesadilla for the table, and we’re surprised that it was three small pieces. For the price it wasn’t worth it. It was a bit greasy, too.
In all, we may return for the cochinita pibil (which is hard to get right ✅️) and the birria enchiladas.
What a fantastic restaurant. I sure wish I had found it earlier.
The food is “authentic Mexican “, as advertised, and as described by the staff. I’ll take their word as I’ve never been to Mexico. I would describe it as incredible. It’s got all the flavor without the fat while also not being drowned in cheese.
I had the Enchiladas Rojas o Verdes. The Wife had shrimp tacos. The were artwork, I had to take pictures.
I always order chicken Enchiladas as my benchmark. These were the best I ever had. My wife said the same thing about her tacos.
Service was attentive without being invasive. The guitar background music was sublime.
How could a Fulshear restaurant be so good it was almost scary.
So glad they got out of the mall because this cuisine is several tiers above any food you could ever find at a mall.
Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu.
Surprisingly, finding authentic Mexican cuisine in the Houston area can be a bit of a chore, but Ferso’s delivers while firing on all cylinders. Their birria tacos are hands down the best I’ve had and their consommé that is served with them is phenomenal. Queso fundido is delicious and the flautas were great as well. Best black beans I’ve had in a while.
If you’re looking for a south of the border fix in this part of town this place is a no-brainer.
Come check it out.
Delicious.
Update: August 2025 – still awesome. We try to go here at least every other week. The birria plate and the birria enchiladas are amazing. Ferso’s margarita is great too.
The veggie enchiladas were packed with fresh, well-seasoned vegetables, wrapped in soft tortillas, and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken enchiladas were just as satisfying, featuring tender, juicy chicken with a perfect balance of spices. Both dishes came with rice and beans, making for a hearty and comforting meal.
For the kid’s meal, the chicken nuggets and fries were crispy, golden, and well-cooked—a great option for little ones who prefer familiar flavors.
A delightful surprise was Ferso’s mocktails, which were refreshing and expertly crafted. Whether fruity and tropical or citrusy and zesty, they complemented the meal beautifully, offering a great non-alcoholic option for those looking to enjoy a flavorful drink.
The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant’s atmosphere made it a great spot for a relaxed family meal. Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine is definitely a place we’ll be returning to for both the food and the fantastic drinks!
