We tried Ferso’s for the first time on a Saturday night. It wasn’t very busy, but we’d gotten a couple of great recommendations, so ventured in.

Our son, who tends to be picky, LOVED the cochinita pibil torta. He wished there was more of it, which makes a good segway to…

The chips and salsa are really good, BUT not free and there are NO refills.

Our daughter enjoyed her shrimp tacos. It should be noted that tacos run about $5 to $6 EACH, and they do NOT come with the expected rice and beans, etc. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were o.k.

Hubby had the birria enchiladas and said they were quite good! But, the Mexican rice was left uneaten. It’s a STAPLE, please don’t neglect it. It should be flavorful and memorable, like the salsa.

We ordered an al pastor quesadilla for the table, and we’re surprised that it was three small pieces. For the price it wasn’t worth it. It was a bit greasy, too.

In all, we may return for the cochinita pibil (which is hard to get right ✅️) and the birria enchiladas.

Wow! I mean Wow!!!
What a fantastic restaurant. I sure wish I had found it earlier.
The food is “authentic Mexican “, as advertised, and as described by the staff. I’ll take their word as I’ve never been to Mexico. I would describe it as incredible. It’s got all the flavor without the fat while also not being drowned in cheese.
I had the Enchiladas Rojas o Verdes. The Wife had shrimp tacos. The were artwork, I had to take pictures.
I always order chicken Enchiladas as my benchmark. These were the best I ever had. My wife said the same thing about her tacos.
Service was attentive without being invasive. The guitar background music was sublime.
How could a Fulshear restaurant be so good it was almost scary.

A hidden GEM!!! We have been looking for a go to Mexican food spot and this is it!! From a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff to the delicious variety of foods, you couldn’t find a better spot for the whole family to enjoy. Pictured are the tacos al pastor and the enchilada trio special that I barely managed to snap a picture of before they were devoured. Each bite was packed with mouthwatering flavor! We had the entire family, kid and grandparents, with all kinds of palate preferences and each person found an entree to enjoy. The servings were generous and the menu had incredible variety. We will absolutely be back!!

So, I just found this gem — it’s a Katy Mills transplant that made it to Fulshear/Richmond/Katy in August 2024.

So glad they got out of the mall because this cuisine is several tiers above any food you could ever find at a mall.

Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu.

Surprisingly, finding authentic Mexican cuisine in the Houston area can be a bit of a chore, but Ferso’s delivers while firing on all cylinders. Their birria tacos are hands down the best I’ve had and their consommé that is served with them is phenomenal. Queso fundido is delicious and the flautas were great as well. Best black beans I’ve had in a while.

If you’re looking for a south of the border fix in this part of town this place is a no-brainer.

Come check it out.

Delicious.

Wow, definitely recommend! Great authentic Mexican food. Great drinks and service! Fernando took great care of us. Please visit and support this place so they stick around! Will definitely be one of our go-to places going forward.

Update: August 2025 – still awesome. We try to go here at least every other week. The birria plate and the birria enchiladas are amazing. Ferso’s margarita is great too.

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. The food quality and taste are excellent. Reasonable portions and pricing. The music and general ambience of the restaurant is peacefully and enjoyable. Very family friendly. One thing that would take this place to the next level is to have handmade tortillas.

Nestled in Richmond, Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine delivers an authentic Mexican dining experience with a welcoming ambiance and delicious food. On our recent visit, we enjoyed their veggie and chicken enchiladas, while our little one had nuggets and fries. To top it off, we tried their mocktails, which turned out to be a surprising highlight of the meal.

The veggie enchiladas were packed with fresh, well-seasoned vegetables, wrapped in soft tortillas, and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken enchiladas were just as satisfying, featuring tender, juicy chicken with a perfect balance of spices. Both dishes came with rice and beans, making for a hearty and comforting meal.

For the kid’s meal, the chicken nuggets and fries were crispy, golden, and well-cooked—a great option for little ones who prefer familiar flavors.

A delightful surprise was Ferso’s mocktails, which were refreshing and expertly crafted. Whether fruity and tropical or citrusy and zesty, they complemented the meal beautifully, offering a great non-alcoholic option for those looking to enjoy a flavorful drink.

The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant’s atmosphere made it a great spot for a relaxed family meal. Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine is definitely a place we’ll be returning to for both the food and the fantastic drinks!

Okay, I saw this place I think at first in the Katy Mills mall, but I’m so glad they made there way out here. The flavor of the dishes at this place is on point!!! I’m not kidding, these spices are exactly what my taste buds didn’t know they needed! Many hats off to Sophia the owner. Gaby and Victoria were the awesome friendly staff who took care of our dining needs. We ordered Horchatas as our beverage, and started with the blanco queso to complement the red salsa. Thick and creamy is how I’d describe it, and I like the thickness of the chips served here. I ordered the Verde Chicken enchiladas, the chicken was seasoned quite flavorful and plenty of sauce. Rice and black refried beans accompanied the enchiladas. My husband got the alambres which were served in a pile on the plate, despite the plating the meat was very soft and tender to the bite. We finished off our meal with a sweet treat, the flan. Very creamy and a bit thicker in consistency than I’ve had before but not certain what to expect as this is a Veracruz style dishes. Nonetheless, it was so delicious and I’m for certain coming back to try the flautas. We ordered off the lunch and we both left stuffed, couldn’t imagine the dinner portions. I legit wanted to lick the plate once I was done, I highly recommended!

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Very cute place with great service. I had the pollo con mole and it was so good and I’m pretty picky about mole. This was perfectly balanced and flavorful.

Great Mexican restaurant out in Katy off FM 1093. It has all the standbys such as enchiladas, refried beans, fajitas. But it has what my wife and I refer to as a Mexico City type of twist. It’s not pure Tex Max – it’s upscale Mexican food. On our recent visit, Red Snapper Vera Cruz was the special that night. Great place. Great quality! Family owned and run!
