This is our regular family friendly Mexican spot. Their daily happy hour is very reasonable and I can generously feed all my kids and get a glass of wine while sitting in the rustic patio overlooking Live Oak Park. There’s often dogs and kids playing, and that’s why we love it. The food is perfectly average with large portions, a reflection of the excellent price point. Don’t expect the best Mexican food you’ve ever had, just a laid back good deal tucked into the hillside with a family friendly environment. A Fallbrook staple.

This is a little Mexican restaurant in Fallbrook. Main items are Mexican food, but they also have other items like burgers and fish and chips. They have 14 beers on tap plus bottles and 3 different wine labels to choose from.

Been there quite a few times and everything I’ve had has been good. They have a happy hour Monday- Friday with $1 off beer and wine and $5 food items.

Good size portions and great prices. They do a good takeout business and parking lot is full many evenings.

Not much inside seating but lots of tables outside. They have fans and heaters. Parking is tight. They have a small gravel parking lot that gets full but there is parking across the street when the park is open.

Place is both pet and kid friendly.

We decided to check this place out after spending some time at the park across the street, the name just seemed fitting. We chose to sit outside and found a secluded table toward the far end of the property. Unfortunately, not long after we sat down, we were swarmed by a group of kids, six little ones running back and forth past our table, spitting and dragging a dog around, while their parents wined and dined several feet away.
On top of that, the food was stale and the wine wasn’t much better. Overall, it just wasn’t the vibe we were hoping for.

Ordered fish and chips and a Western burger. Fish and chips were nice. Unfortunately though the chips (fries) were rather cold. Same with the fries with the burger. Western burger was massive! However, it was very mediocre. Didn’t seem to have any seasoning and the BBQ sauce was only on one edge. Probably wouldn’t order the burger again, unless I was super hungry. Atmosphere is nice. Nice outdoor seating with a Ranch/Old West vibe to it. Tough to get in and out of as it’s just off a main road with a bit of a blind corner.

I happened upon this hidden gem today while driving by on my way to something else, and I just had to turn around to check it out! The sign promising 14 craft beers on tap caught my eye.

The setting is very inviting, tucked away in the hillside along winding Reche Rd, right across the street from Live Oak County Park. Beautiful old oak trees outside for shade (or sun in spots), relaxing natural atmosphere with lots of potted plants, rustic wine barrel tables and string lights on the covered patio (plus heaters for cooler days/nights), tons of exterior options for large groups or small gatherings, and the intimate interior seating area + bar are very warm and cozy. You feel instantly transported to a different place and time.

I ordered a glass of Cabernet from Fallbrook Winery, very local and delicious, and two tacos. I got lucky – it was happy hour, so my glass of wine was $1 off (daily from 2-5pm, $1 off beer too).

My tacos were so tasty I forgot to take a photo before I took a bite! I got a shredded beef taco and a fish taco – both were great! Really good flavor in the shredded beef itself with a very crunchy taco shell, and the fish was fried crispy.

I’ll definitely stop by here again the next time I’m in the area. Friendly service, and I left with a full belly and a smile on my face.

Nice people, good portions, decent food. Definitely not the best in town but everything seemed fresh enough. The burgers are good. The Mexican is hit or miss. Small amount of indoor seating and a very nice amount of outdoor. Food took a good while to come out. Prices are good!

Cute little place. Food was not what I expected. My taco de birria was plated on the same plate as my hubby’s fish tacos. The biriani needed some spicy for my taste. The salsas green & red not spicy at all..neither one.The carne on the nachos could have been better. The ambiance was perfect. We sat on the bar stools outside, looking out at traffic and the Live Oak County Park. Perfect delightful weather. I’m not picky, I’m selective, especially when it comes to Mexican food.

This little hidden Mexican joint has been been a local spot for decades, and due to its unique location its likely been driven past by nearly every Fallbrookian countless times either on their way out of town or heading back in. So I finally decided to pull over and try it for the first time recently. Went with a carne asada burrito figuring that would be a safe choice, but to my dissapointment it was very chewy and had this almost ground up texture, which was less than awesome. So tried again last week with some fish tacos this time and was much better. And while I’m still a bit skeptical over the carne asada debacle (as that should be a safe go to at any Mexican place worth their salsa), I’m willing to at least keep trying something new there every now and then.
