Had a wonderful Sunday Brunch in the newly remodeled Steakhouse. The portions were generous, the service was friendly and prompt, and the restaurant itself was comfortable and elegant. Because it was such a beautiful first day of March we elected to sit on the patio out back near the Koi ponds and it was perfect.

WOW! Based on the mixed reviews here and Yelp, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am a local but have not dined at the Steakhouse in about 10 years. I was looking for a nice place to take a work colleague who was visiting our area. My friend had dined here a couple weeks ago and said it was great so I rolled the dice.

I was impressed with the lobby and the dining room in general. It is has a nice, warm feeling. I asked for a booth which had a pleasant view of the garden.

We were greeted by Sean our server who was an absolute delight! He was funny, charming and put everyone at ease right away.

I had a feeling we were off to a good start when the bread arrived…it was a sliced sourdough? loaf and was warm and delicious! The butter was whipped and so soft…just wonderful.

We order the Classic Ceasar and split it three ways, as Sean mentioned it was a big salad…and it was. The dressing was just right.

For our main courses we chose the Harissa Shrimp, the 7oz Filet Mignon and the Smoked Pecan Crusted Salmon. My husband got the shrimp and he was moping up the sauce with the bread! He said it had a bit of a kick and he really enjoyed it. I got the salmon and I was delighted. The squash puree with the pecan crust was just perfect…it was so good! My colleague ordered the filet and said it was a bit “done” but said it tasted wonderful.
We also ordered the loaded baked potatoes and while some of the reviews mentioned the toppings were skimpy, ours were not. My colleague really enjoyed the variety they offered.

We were to full for dessert but look forward to trying those next time!

I took off a star because the sides are all separate and that is annoying, and expensive. $11 for a baked potato? The hostess was just ok, not rude just not as welcoming as I would have expected but it was 5pm and they had just opened so maybe she hadn’t warmed up yet.

Overall, we will be back!

Phenomenal. The food and staff were excellent. Definitely don’t skip the bread – it’s amazing (thank you Nina) and I almost blew my appetite on it. We got the calamari and the chorizo tots as appetizers and they were both good. I got the steak and lobster, and my husband got the salmon, plus we got the mushrooms and carrots as sides and all of it was *chef’s kiss*. Everything was cooked to perfection. I could eat the carrots and mushrooms every day, they were surprisingly incredible. And a huge shoutout to our server Joey; he was superb made excellent recommendations.

Our group of 4 started at the bar while waiting for our reservation. Service was ok. The bartender wasn’t very engaging. They make a nice nice Rye Old Fashioned but the Whiskey Sour needed work.

We asked the hostess to let us know if she could get us in before our reservation time and she said sure I think she forgot about us because my husband went to check with her again and she had a few tables available but hadn’tcome to get us.

Once we were seated for dinner, service was lacking. We had a green waiter and it took so long for our order to be taken, for the drinks to come out, and for our entrée to make it to the table.

Food and atmosphere were good. We enjoyed the filet mignon, Ribeye, New York steak, and a burger.

Elegant dining room. The booths are very very comfortable. Great view of the courtyard. Service is top-notch everybody is on queue. This time I tried the prime rib was blown away temperature was perfect cooked to perfection. Situated downtown Paso Robles it’s a perfect destination for a dinner and a walk and stroll downtown. Highly recommend it. If you just want some cocktails going upstairs to the bar is very nice. Enjoy

There was not a lot of food choice for breakfast. no Tabasco sauce no A-1 sauce they did a lot of cut down on a lot of choices I really don’t recommend going to spend you time and your money where they don’t have a lot of food choices like they did before.

$$ I really wanted like this place. Our server was great this doesnt rest on his shoulders. Feeding the fish in the Koi fish in the pond was cool as well, but thats where it wnds. They seemed to push sauces for your steak order and found out why. Our filet mignon had no flavor, no seasoning what so ever. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry, and so was the atmosphere. Probably more for the locals, I’m not sure.
I would not recommend this steakhouse for the filet mignon and garlic mashed potatoes.

An old school steakhouse at a great location boarding the town park square. Service was prompt, friendly and engaging as Sally attended to us with enthusiasm while being shadowed by a trainee. Morro Bay raw oysters were sweet and fresh though the appetizer was very small. Calamari was good with maybe a bit too much batter and tiny fish bites. Main courses were good, daily fish special was good (but not great) and my filet was not quite right initially but they fixed that right up after sending it back to the kitchen – give it a 9.
Pleasant beautiful grounds, decent food and exceptional service and attention to detail. Recommend trying this place at least once when in the area

The food is delicious and the staff is on point. We love visiting the Koi ponds after our meal. Paso Inn is a special part of our town. It has a lot of history, my family has been coming here for ages. It changed hands at one point, I don’t really like change, but I love the way it is now. The building is old and holds a lot of memories for my family. If you’re visiting and want a real feel for Paso, we recommend the Paso Inn.
