I come from Ontario to visit friends in Cochrane once a month. Each time, I make sure to visit Mama Mia for an unbeatable meal.
This place never disappoints and to say I’m obsessed with it would be an understatement.
We visited Mama Mia twice today for lunch and dinner. Both times, served by a wonderful gentleman named Bestin who provided exceptional service and made sure we were satisfied.
My current favourite dish is the Carbonara. 10/10
The tiramisu is incredible. The pizzas are top notch.
You won’t regret dining here. And that’s coming from an Italian gal herself.

I by chance popped in here for luck h while my car was being serviced. Right away I was welcomed by Iris who was very friendly and extremely helpful with the menu.
Being a Guinness drinker I’m pleased by how available it is becoming due to its popularity, but am always unsure about ordering it. Iris assured me of a good pour and she was right. Ice cold, perfect pour.
The food was, in a word, perfect. The prawns were the best I had in a long time, the beef dip was spectacular.
All the food that came out to other tables in my time there looked authentic and well plated. The atmosphere was great and would suit a quiet lunch, a dinner date, or a family outing pleasantly.
I would recommend this to anyone in Cochrane, anyone driving by on highway 1, honestly anyone who is sick of chains and wants to have an honestly delicious lunch.
I live over an hour away and will definitely be making the trip just to experience it again.

This is truly a hidden gem! We come here from Calgary because it’s truly the best Italian restaurant. The food is so delicious, it’s mind-blowing! I have never tried better gnocchi than in Mama Mia. Pizza is perfect as well, and actually everything we ever ordered here was top-notch. I’ll never get tired of this restaurant, thank you so much for feeding me so well

The kids size pizza blew our mind! It was huge!

I had a really good experience here. The food was really good. The restaurant is modern and clean. The staff were attentive and friendly. There is quite a good menu, and everything we had, including dessert was to notch. There is a patio, wheelchair parking right out front, and there are power doors for wheelchair users.

We recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Mama Mia’s. Every moment was a joy, from meeting with Iris, restaurant manager to sitting down with Chef Animesh who created a personalized 6 course fine dinning menu. As well as our dedicated server Bestin along with additional wait and kitchen staff. All went seamlessly. We were provided a very private area for our 25 guests, the outstanding meal and service were enjoyed by all. Even our one younger guest was provided a child dinner menu.

My first time at mama Mia Italian kitchen was for a work dinner event and I was really happy with the ambience and setting of the restaurant. I ordered the cioppiono fish stew and was impressed by the freshness of the seafood and the presentation. Where I found the experience lacked was on dessert. I ordered the lychee gelato and found it very icy in texture and super light on lychee flavour. It really only tasted like sweet plain gelato and for ten dollars, I wish I would have skipped dessert. I had hoped they also had more flavours available in the gelato as I think lemon or lime gelato would complement the end of a meal wonderfully. Overall I had a great experience at Mama Mia and I recommend it to families looking for an upscale dining experience in Cochrane.
