I think this is the only Bangladeshi food truck in Austin in my time here. For a fuchka lover like me this place is a dream! Austin has lot o of desi food trucks / restaurants selling pani puri but not Fuchka. Fuchka is similar toh pani puri, a Bangladeshi delicacy! I loved it. note: the “tetuler tok” aka the tamarind chutney: juice with the fuchka may be a bit a tangy for some ( my husband said it is bit tangy for him) but I like it tangy tbh! We got cha and shingara as well. The shingara felt like it was homemade, not those store bought frozen shingara.
We also had beef Bihari kabab with porotha and goat tehari! Both were really good! I liked goat tehari most! Not too oily, the rice was flavorful, decent amount of goat.
We wish we went a little earlier, they ran out of piyaju and haleem! Will try those later. Also we wanted to try their Kachi Biryani but it’s available on Friday- check out their menu for the kachi, murog polau etc as they are available on certain days of the week. Will go back to try these as well. I hope this food truck stays for good, since in the past few years we have seen many food trucks shutdown in Austin due to increasing rent and labor cost etc

I visited on opening day on Valentine’s Day because of course a bengali loves nothing more than his comfort foods.

We ordered the following: fuchka (pani puri), goat kacchi biryani, beef haleem & mango lassi.

The fuchka was enjoyable, but I felt the tamarind water could have been runnier and slightly sweeter to balance the flavors better.

The beef haleem was excellent. It was rich, hearty, and well-spiced. I believe it comes with garnishes but they must have forgotten to put in the bag. Still, the flavor stood strong on its own and it was my favorite item this time around.

Now for the Goat Kacchi Biryani! This was the dish I was most excited for. So, did it deliver? *Drum roll* … Yes and no. Individually, each component was excellent. The goat was tender and perfectly cooked, the potatoes were just right (neither too hard nor too soft), and the rice was light, fluffy, and not mushy. However, it lacked that distinct “beyer bari” (wedding-style) flavor that I was hoping for. While it didn’t quite hit the flavors I was craving, it was still a very solid dish. Also, I wasn’t sure if the cashews were necessary but the serrano peppers definitely was not needed, the flavor profile does not go with it. Kacha morich (Thai chilies) would have been a better choice.

The mango lassi was good. As usual I only got a sip before the kid claimed the rest!

Nitpicking aside, I’m genuinely happy to have a Bangladeshi food cart in Austin. This is something that is way way way overdue! I’ll definitely be back in a few weeks once they’ve had time to refine things. Looking forward to seeing how they evolve!

Per the menu they do catering, and all food is halal.

I’m so happy this place opened in Austin! I love Bangla food and love that they deliver on the apps bc it makes it so easy for me to have access to it. My fiance and I ordered the murgh pulao on doordash and we LOVED IT! That two days later we came to pick up their weekend special the Kaachi biryani and Bihari kebab roll and both were delicious. We hope this place thrives . Just wished that they put all their daily specials on DoorDash or ubereats so it’s easier to order them!

This is probably one of the fewest Bengali food courts in Texas (or the US) that have amazing food with:

– homestyle taste
– super fresh
– very comfortable (not oily or over spicy)
– reasonably priced

And the hosts (specially AbuBakar bhai) was very caring, respectful, and humble. He made sure the guests are happy and satisfied- I greatly appreciate their food and service. A must to visit place for Bengali food in Austin! (Adding two photos of fuchka and halim- had tehari also, but forgot to take picture )

We were so excited to try Bangladeshi Fuchka for the first time in Austin. The food was amazing. The doi fuchka had the perfect balance of savory and sweet and the regular fuchka had the right amount of spice and flavor. Their beef bun kabab was delicious and juicy, it was not too spicy hence it is definitely kid friendly. Both Samin bhai and Abu Bakar bhai were very courteous and welcoming. The food was handled with much love and care. Thank you for a delightful experience, we will definitely be back to support our Bangladeshi brothers.

I had the Fuchka and it tasted like the desi ones! The chicken shish kababs were great as well. I also wanted to try their kachi biriyani but they were sadly sold out =(

Their Fuchka is the best I’ve ever tasted. Even better than NYC. Halim was also delicious. They ran out of rice dishes by late afternoon so couldn’t try. But definitely would love to try in the future.

Try the fuchka! Just drizzle on the tamarind sauce, it’s a fun and easy to enjoy dish. We also got the iftar platter, everything was good. This place is a hidden Austin gem.
