Quaint place that has quality food and beverages. Grew up in Lackawanna and used to frequently dine there as they been there about 45 years. Now whenever I am in the area , it’s my first choice . MY favorite is roast pork with horseradish on a weck roll , fresh cut curly fries and either Birch beer or Loganberry for my beverage!

First visit ever. Was looking for a good beef on weck. Asked if it was comparable to Charlie, the butchers and the said that it was better.
This was the worst roast beef on Weck I have ever had. It was So dry it was hard to swallow. The Ajou looks like tainted urine. And smelled awful. They also offered me a taste of their roasted turkey. It was just as bad.

This place gives old school vibes in the best way with its long counter and bucket booth seats. Not only was the food great, the service was amazing. We tried the roast beef and roast pork, both were delicious. In a world seemingly being overtaken by corporate interests, this is the type of family owned community place that must be supported and celebrated at all costs! Great lunch spot to hit before going to the Botanical Gardens.

Well, always wanted to try the place. It’s OK. Feels like a diner. Had a hard time getting a recommendation from the gal at the counter. Beef was good, but weck roll wasn’t. Place reminded me of a travel center restaurant. Wouldn’t go again. Onion rings were great. Otherwise, meh.

This place is just OK. It took 30 min for 3 sandwiches over the counter. The prices are high seeing that nothing at all comes with the sandwiches – the portion and quality is average. The meat was on the dry side – no au jus. The space hasn’t been updated in 30 years – looking old.
Cash only – ATM on site.
This place was really great back in the day. It’s sad to see the dropoff over the years.

Restaurant was clean and had an old time feel. Girl at the register was very friendly. The beef was very dry and disappointing for $13 a Sammy with no sides. The curly fries saved the meal. They gave a huge pile of curly fries and they were delicious! Probably wouldn’t go back for the beef but maybe for the fries as a snack. Had potential but failed

The fries are cut fresh daily and heaping. I’d actually consider going for just the fries. Their food is sourced so you know some extra care was taken in getting ingredients.
It’s cash only. I understand why but it’s a slight draw back. There’s an ATM inside so that kind of helps.
It’s definitely a family business. The people are nice.

Very bad experience. I didnt like the fact is you dine in you have to pay for refills. Your meal does not come with any sides and i feel the sides are over priced for the quality of food. They only accept cash so i had to use the ATM where i got charged for that as well. I ordered a soup which was served with a paper bowl and really greasy. Au jus sauce was almost clear like it wasnt au jus at all but instead what the meat sits in. I asked for a to go box and they offered me tin foil! Honestly just an overall bad experience.
