We absolutely love the Park Inn (what a gem!) and are a big fan of the bar in the basement. We love that it also has a restaurant that we can enjoy. We were celebrating a special event and went there as a family. We all chose something different off the menu and there was a lot to choose from. It feels very classy and upscale. What a nice addition to the downtown of Mason City! Great service, good food, would go again!

I was dining with my fiancé. We were greeted very kindly by Sandra. The service from Sandra throughout our time there was pleasant and she was very attentive. I was a sucker for the lighting inside to be honest. I ordered the seared salmon and my fiancé got the ribeye. The food looked and tasted fantastic.

Just Wow! My husband and I ate Valentines Day dinner at this amazing, small town gem. The food surpassed our expectations! I had the salmon and my husband had the ribeye, which he said was the best ribeye he had ever eaten. Genesis was our server and she took really good care of us! Cocktails and dessert were top notch. Prices are very reasonable for an upscale experience.

We went in expecting an upscale steakhouse experience, but it missed the mark for the price. My date ordered the filet mignon well done and it came out rare. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and it came out well done. On top of that, both steaks had a strange gravy/sauce on them that wasn’t mentioned and really didn’t work.

The space itself looks upscale, but the seating felt awkward, like we were sitting in a hallway, and it was uncomfortably cold. Our waiter was genuinely kind and did her best, but it felt like she needed more support/training from management.

With better execution and management, this place could be amazing, but for the price tag there are better high-end options.

The wine list was the best part and even it wasn’t stand out. Unfortunately Leadlight did disappoint. The food was mainstream, the decor was retro in an estate sale way, and the bathroom had an extension cord plugged into an extension cord…..hanging from the ceiling. The sac blanc I had was surprisingly bright with grapefruit notes that kept me interested but the pasta was definitely forgettable and the dishes lacked complexity. Frankly, it’s boring and older and in desperate need of new life for me to visit twice. Off to explore other gems in Mason City and hopeful it will be more in line with the hidden gem I am seeking.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the menu has a lot of tempting options.

Dinner consisted of smoked chicken pot pie and potato rolls which were both very good, followed by apple crisp which was even better. Unfortunately, the service was very slow due to their being short-handed.

The next morning’s brunch food was also very good and clearly this place is the Sunday hot spot in town. With a little improvement on the service side of things, this place is worth five stars.

My wife and I stopped through here and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The Gnudi Alla Gricia is a must-have as far as appetizers here go. It was scrumptious and unexpected! I wanted the Beef Wellington (sad face) but they had just sold the last one so I settled on a T-bone which was excellent. The side of whipped potato and Brussel sprouts was a perfect accompaniment. My wife got the fish (trout I think) which was also perfectly cooked. Finally, the warm chocolate chip brownie was the perfect sweet finish.

They said there are a couple weeks into a new chef. Our dinner (a year after the first review) was still 5-star excellent! The Duck Wontons for an appetizer were a pleasant burst of flavor. The Tavern Burger, Linguini Scampi and Sea Bass were excellent!

We were seated on the patio with amazing weather, they have a special server just for outdoor, she was wonderful!
We shared the cheese curds, and shared a bottle of wine with a friend which was very reasonable ($25 and they have several options and price ranges).
I got the River City Green Salad and added grilled chicken, it was so delicious! Homemade dressing and croutons, juicy chicken and local greens.
My friends got the Pork Medallions, which they said were the best they’ve had, the burger and the Linguini Scampi – all had great things to say. A great meal, we’ll be back!

Visited again in September and had a lovely dining experience. Great drink and wine selection, the menu is small and unique. They brought out some homemade bread and lovely honey butter to start. Truffle fries were crispy and delicious. I got scallops and they were good, the risotto was even better. We went for our anniversary and received a free dessert- the highlight of our meal for me! My husband got the ribeye and said it was good, veggies were delicious, mashed potatoes were ok. Service was awesome!

Great dining experience on the square in Mason City. We had the filet and salmon dinners and both were delicious- highly recommend. They have table/booth options in a well lit space with large windows overlooking the square. There is a special chefs table seating option which we look forward to trying in the future. Great date night option for dinner or hanging out at the bar for a cocktail.

I am relieved that any negative reviews I read from before did not ring true when my friend and I went today for brunch. I got steak and eggs and she got stuffed French toast. Both were perfect, and the service was lovely as well. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Mason City. Beautiful hotel, nice people!
