Quiet until after sunset! We had the most incredible meal tonight at Mariscos for the first time celebrating our 11th anniversary! I am a trained chef and huge foodie; this was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten (out) in Texas. The seafood was so fresh, the flavors were so well balanced, you could taste the Spanish influence and the Central American flavors marrying. My husband tried ceviche for first time, it was amazing, he had Red Snapper with a white wine sauce and I tried the paella with so much seafood! Surprisingly abundant portions for the price, we took home and left very full. We were immediately served quality, warm, spicy salsa made with Serrano peppers and chile de arbol peppers so it was intensely spicy but just short of making my nose run, with a ton of flavor. The tortillas tasted freshly made, but for the first time ever I forwent the tortillas because the meal needed no further adornment. I can’t rave enough about this place! We used a Groupon and it was a great deal! (note the ceviche isn’t an included appetizer, but we just had to try it! No regrets.)This restaurant is very unassuming from the outside but you can tell the cocinero loves food and cares about doing their job exceptionally well. New favorite Dallas culinary gem! There was also a small stage so I suspect they feature live music sometimes.

Thid place was great! Underestimated by many! The carne asada was damn delicious and the margaritas are freshly made NO chemicals! Only complaint is that when switching staff on shifts make sure what the customers order is correct. We received the wrong margaritas and they were not as good as the previous. It was worth every penny!!

Let start by saying that this place is pretty nice and clean and the staff are very nice and attentive ! Now the food could definitely improve we order a Tostada de ceviche which it was pretty good, the shrimp cocktail it was else good and it had a pretty unique flavor but the shrimp didn’t look very appealing! But the Pulpo con Jalapeño definitely needs an improvement they presented pretty fancy but it’s definitely missing flavor is very simple, on the positive side they are very generous with the extras and overall a nice family restaurant!

I discovered Mariscos La Fogata while doing a Google search for “best Aguachiles near me”. The location was close by and the reviews were high. I was sold. I stopped by for lunch with a friend.
The restaurant is very small and it is located in an unassuming shopping center . The decor is colorful and inviting. We were lucky enough to be the only customers during our visit. There was a language barrier . Upon my arrival I ordered a frozen Strawberry Margarita. When the server brought it out, I mentioned to her that I had a friend that was going to join me. This resulted in my server bringing me a second margarita
that I didn’t order. Thank goodness my friend agreed to drink it anyway .
The Google photos looked good on the previous reviews. I was genuinely excited to try the food. I started things off with the frozen Strawberry Margarita and guacamole and chips. The guacamole was disappointing. It did not taste fresh and the texture was a little to watery for me. As for the margarita, I didn’t taste a lot of strawberry and it was sweet. There was a weird aftertaste.
Next , I ordered the Ceviche Mixto. It was tasty. There was a good balance with the lime juice. However, the fish used was just ok .
My friend ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Verde. I tasted it. It wasn’t my favorite. I usually love this dish. While it was visually a banger, the taste didn’t match. It was not bad at all. It’s just that I’ve had better.
I went with the Arroz Marinero for my entree. This dish was visually stunning. I was literally drooling at the site of it . My anticipation was at its peak. It is clams, mussels, shrimp, octopus, and crab over a spicy tomatoe broth. The dish was good but I felt there should’ve been more salt used. It was a little weak. I expected a real punch of flavor. I did find a few shells in some of my bites. I still enjoyed it. Maybe the kitchen was having an off day . I would still go back.
On my next visit I will try the Aguachiles. As they are highly rated. Although there were some bumps during my visit, I still enjoyed my meal. Give Mariscos La Fogata Restaurant a try and let me know what you think.

My plate had fish, shrimp, and octopus. The sauce that it was covered in gave it an excellent taste.
The michelada was okay. However, it is hard to find reallyyyyy good miches.
My boyfriend really liked his strawberry margarita! He also liked his broil.
The salsa they bring out was good. I love when salsas are warm and they did not disappoint. Good kick to it as well. ️

It offers a nice Hispanic twist that sets it apart from all the numerous boiled seafood restaurants scattered around the DFW area. Their spiciest sauce level is made of Chile de Arbol which I quite enjoyed.
I need to be fair and rate this as a seafood restaurant that offers a lot more than just boiled seafood. Their menu is quite big and I need to try more before I settle on a final rating. Their boiled seafood combos are 7.5/10.
The waitress was AMAZING. I love to write reviews of places that offer great hospitality. Shout out to the wait staff. 10/10
