A friend told me there’s a new sushi place in Locust Valley called MOIM. I was curious, so I went tuesday and placed an order. When I saw the prices, I was honestly shocked that a tuna roll is $7.73 and the rolls are really small. The chicken skewers were salty and tough, and the two pieces of sushi tasted… well, kind of like the ones you get from a supermarket. I noticed they have a lot of good reviews, so now I’m really curious: What exactly are people tasting that I didn’t? Or is it just that my understanding of sushi isn’t advanced enough? Based on the day’s experience, it’s probably not a place I’d return to.

Hands down the best sushi around! Super fresh fish, awesome rolls, and the chirashi bowl is loaded with generous cuts of sashimi. Everything tastes clean and high quality, and the flavors are spot on. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is really friendly, and you can tell they care about the details. Definitely my go-to sushi spot

what a wonderful addition to GC/LV. food is amazing. chef uses the freshest fish. their combo deals are very filling and price wise very affordable. more than that, we sat at the sushi counter and watched as the chef created each piece. I highly recommend sitting at the counter. would absolutely return for both eating in and take out. what a wonderful establishment and wonderful owner. can’t wait to return!

Our new favorite sushi spot. Moving from NYC to Long Island.. it was challenging finding a good sushi spot in Glen Cove, but we are so happy this place recently opened up! Their sushi is fresh and delicious. I like that the menu is focused on sushi/food. Very authentic vibe. Great staff as well. Extremely welcoming and cozy vibe. I highly recommend trying this place.

My first installment of my Long Island restaurant reviews. I’ve been a traveling food critic for years and you can see why MOIM has the rating it does. Spoke to locals of a spot I need to try MOIM came up. Especially on Thursday nights when David and Shawn work. This is best sushi you can find on the island, and that’s what leads to the most unique sushi experience ever. Amazing fresh Asian style sushi and seafood with two American waiters! I know sounds crazy but it works so perfect! Both these young gentlemen are charismatic and big personalities. There service seems so effortless it’s like there not working at all. Please go try Moim and keep checking my page for more updates across the island

Beef yakitori was flavorful and tender.
California roll was specially seasoned (we are not typically cali roll people but this was fire).
The perfectly cooked edamame with flaky salt, addictive.
10/10 will absolutely be returning.

I’ve been coming to Moim once a week, and it never disappoints. The sushi is always incredibly fresh—especially the tuna—and everything is prepared with care and precision. The owner himself makes all the sushi, and it really shows in the quality and consistency of the food. Everything is clean, beautifully presented, and delicious.

This is our new go-to sushi spot. Their sushi is always fresh and well prepared. While they don’t offer delivery they do offer take-out and are always very quick to prepare your orders. We also like to eat in and there is usually not a wait although it doesn’t hurt to call ahead when it’s a Friday night and might be busy. Highly recommend.
