I stopped by this location on a Thursday morning. There were only three people ahead of me, and the line moved pretty quickly. The register person was friendly. The main wait was for the food itself, about 10 to 12 minutes, but it came out fresh and hot.
I ordered the gyro plate. The bread was soft and warm, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. My only critique is that I wish the plate came with a little more meat. Overall, still a solid spot for a satisfying meal.

I had dinner at Island Grill at Tanglewood on Woodway Drive and really enjoyed it. The Philly Cheesesteak was warm, cheesy, and came with perfectly seasoned fries, while the Fried Popcorn Shrimp Sandwich was crispy and flavorful. The Chicken Tortilla Soup was the standout rich, comforting, and full of tender chicken and avocado, served with soft pita bread on the side. The food came out quickly, portions were generous, and the service was friendly. For about $49 including a drink, it felt like a good value for a casual, satisfying meal in a relaxed Houston spot.

A must visit place, the food is beyond amazing, the pita bread was the most soft and savory bread I’ ever tasted. The staff and the owner were very nice. Good location, and were parking spots available. Very happy with this visit. Definitely we’ll be back soon.

The gyro pita comes with onions and mushrooms. I didn’t notice it on the menu but overall the meal was a 3/10 the tzatziki sauce was watery and bland. It’s not really gyro meat that most Mediterranean restaurants use either.
The service was okay. But this meal was not satisfying whatsoever. Maybe they have better options for the American meals and not the Mediterranean ones.

We ordered an omelet, but it was quite different from the usual ones. It was more like an egg wrap—the eggs were cooked separately and wrapped in stuffing. The salmon in the omelet was overcooked and quite salty.

If you are looking for a great neighborhood restaurant – look no further than Island Grill – Woodway location. Menu options are great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar area is great and you can watch your favorite teams on the many tvs. Staff is awesome and Christine and Moses make sure everything runs smoothly. After a visit or two they will remember your name and greet you as you walk in. If you are lucky enough, you might meet the owner who is often onsite and checks up on customers. Everyone on staff listens to customer requests. Visit once and you will return as this is my favorite go-to place.
