Food was delicious!!
When we arrived we thought we would have a long wait because of how busy they were but that wasn’t the case. We didn’t wait long to be seated nor for our food.
All of the staff were really nice.
Now let’s talk about the food,
The food was so fresh and hot when we received it. My desire was to eat some good soul food cooking and my expectations were met. Fried whiting was crispy, mac & cheese was cheesy, yams were perfect and the lemon pepper wings were great. My meal definitely made me feel like I was eating a home cooked meal from my mom.
Oh and let’s not forget about that delicious watermelon lemonade. SO GOOD!

Service was great. Food was top notch! Had a little mishap but spoke to manager Ledon was able to get me all taken care of so I can’t give a negative review for that. The chicken was great and the mashed potatoes & gravy & you can’t forget to add the cornbread lord have mercy!!!!! Making very excited to make another trip out here!!

Let me tell y’all about Southern Grace Eats. It’s my FAVORITE place in Cincinnati to eat! They have the absolute sweetest staff and the food is the best in the city for soul food! Let’s crack into it! HANDS DOWN THE BEST FRESHEST FRIEND CHICKEN I HAVE HAD IN THE CITY! The Mac n Cheese itself…why is it so good! And when it touches the Yams! HEAVEN!!! And that juicy succulent chicken! And let’s not even talk about that Catfish! So clean and fresh and succulent and flaky! But did I mention the chicken! I love this place. Today is our 3rd time here in the last 4 weeks and I’m not disappointed by this. Also DON’T SKIP DESSERT! Angela puts her foot in them darn cakes! Today I went with my son and this is what we got! I had to edit to mention the owner’s brother is the absolute GOAT! I see him hustling Everytime I’m in here, he is running and checking on every table. He’s so sweet and nice and a hard worker. Everyone here is! And the food comes out piping hot! It will be a little wait BUT IT’S WORTH IT!

I’m a truck driver delivering to United Dairy Farmers down the street. Since I knew I was going to wait hours, I looked for somewhere to grab some food from, I found Southern Grace Eats.. what an unexpected blessing. I got there for an order to go and instantly wished I could’ve grabbed a set and stayed a while, the whole energy was peaceful. To match, beautiful young lady named Naimah took my order and was so courteous and professional in her service. I ordered the whiting fish, Mac & cheese, and collard greens which were all delicious. I’m not from Cincinnati, I was only passing through, I’m a native New Yorker. But you can bet that anytime I’m sent back to this part of town that I’ll be back at Southern Grace Eats…. Came to Cincy for a few days over the Memorial Day weekend & it was on my bucket list to try this soul food.I was not disappointed with the food, service or atmosphere. Vibe: It was around 5pm on a Saturday, not too crowded & not a long wait, it was about a 15-2o minute wait. Very clean & spacious. If dining in, you place your order & pay then they will tell you which table # to sit at. Angel was very helpful with food recommendations, I loved her customer service & attitude. Asha(sp?) was also very pleasant as well as the owner Nikki!
Food: The catfish was hot – cooked & seasoned PERFECTLY! Yams were very good & not too sweet. Mac & chz baked just right with a lil burntness on top(IYKYK), cabbage, turkey tips w/ rice & gravy were also really good! The watermelon lemonade was really sweet to me, if you like a real sweet & flavorful drink then get it, IMO, I didn’t like it because I don’t like sweet drinks. I highly recommend eating here.

Good but not Great. I frequented this place when I lived in the inner Cincinnati area. I don’t think the food is bad. There are some dishes that are good and others that are just like any halfway decent cook could make. If I am paying $20+ dollars for a plate for comfort food, it better be good. The brisket and the gravy is probably the best/most southern thing about this place. One thing that kills me is how southern places up here serve like yellow cake cornbread (cornbread sweet as cake). It is good, just not southern. I see that a lot of people comment about the catfish being good, uh RIP. The catfish is literally seasoned with salt and pepper, like what southern cooking place doing that… Cracker Barrel? Good quality fish that you can get in New Orleans or the gulf is just impossible to get in Ohio so props to them. This is one of the better places in Cincinnati when it comes to fish. Overall, I think you could do like a date or work lunch here, but not often. The atmosphere here is great, natural lighting from the big windows.

We visited last night on a whim and cannot wait to return. I ordered the catfish, collard greens and Mac&cheese, and my wife ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and friek okra. I’ve always loved catfish, and this is the best I’ve ever had. My sides were spectacular and my wife enjoyed her meal very much. The service could not be any better, too! This restaurant is going to be in our rotation now and we know the kids will like it, too.

A friend of mine recently took me to Southern Grace, and it was a much-needed experience. For a while now, I had honestly lost faith in restaurants and eating out in general. This experience reminded me that there is still good food and good energy in the world.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff treated each other like a healthy family. Even the wait time was extremely reasonable. I ordered the fried whiting fish sandwich with fries, and the fries were probably the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant.
