Reviews
This is a very warm and cozy Italian place and our servers were very sweet and attentive. They have a patio set up as well that looked so beautiful and inviting.
For the table we chose the Burrata and Fritto Misto. The Burrata was top notch (I could have had eaten the whole thing myself!) while the Fritto Misto needed some more seasoning. Yes, if you dipped it in the sauce it would have added to the flavor profile…but I prefer having my shrimp and calamari as is and feel like the batter needed atleast more salt.
Prior to the entree the complementary traditional bread basket was provided.
For the main course I got the Costolette de Manzo (beef short ribs with creamy polenta) and it was incredible! Fall off the bone tender, moist and succulent! I also got to taste the Lasagne alla Carne di Manzo which came in this cute personal skillet and a huge portion size! The béchamel-meat sauce was delicious!
For dessert I picked the Tirimisu and also did get to taste the Chocolate Cannoli- both really good choices and it wrapped the meal so well.
My Bellini cocktail was very light and refreshing too.
Would come back for sure!
– Trenette al Pesto
– Spaghetti all’Assassina*
– Fettuccine Cacio e Pepe
– Tagliatelle alla Bolognese*
The food was absolutely divine, flavorful, and clearly made fresh. I highly recommend starting with the meatballs—they’re packed with flavor. For the main course, the short ribs are a must-try: tender, rich, and perfectly cooked. Overall, a lovely experience for the atmosphere and food. Definitely worth the wait!
Not sure why someone would leave a 1 star review for a family owned business over their valentine’s day prix fixe menu. Must be their first day on earth, valentine’s day is notably the busiest evening of the year for the restaurant industry and a limited prix fixe menu that night, especially in such a big city, is an industry wide standard! Please keep that in mind as you scroll through reviews.
You can tell they really put in the effort with the food preparation. The meal was cooked to perfection and was made to highlight the freshness of the ingredients. The veal was incredibly tender. Personally, the red sauce for the meatballs wasn’t to my taste, but was better than typical American-Italian Red Sauces.
For dessert, we had the chocolate cake with Gelato. The cake itself tasted like a standard chocolate cake, but the Gelato took it to the next level.
In addition to a glass of wine, the total cost of the meal was about $130 before tip. I felt that with the portions we received and overall experience it was worth it.
The restaurant itself is limited in space so it is easy to overhear conversations at adjacent tables and the chairs were a little uncomfortable for a taller man.
Server was fantastic and attentive.
Parking wise, limited parking handled by valet so bring cash.
I would recommend for a date night.
Price per person: …
I made an evening reservation through OpenTable to dine here for my boyfriend’s birthday. He has been looking to try different Italian restaurants so I was excited to see Roma had an almost perfect rating (on OpenTable).
Well, sadly our experience was only positive due to the kind serving staff. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and my boyfriend ordered the cacio e pepe with shrimp as a protein. We were promised the protein would arrive shortly but there was a mixup and the protein was put in as chicken. Once that was cleared up, we were still promised the shrimp would arrive shortly. Because we were still missing food we decided to wait on eating our meals. That proved to be a big mistake because we ended up waiting longer and our food eventually got cold. The shrimp never arrived. Eventually someone that seemed to be possibly the manager stopped by to apologize and let us know that the kitchen is refusing to continue to make any more food. A couple that was there before us actually was not served at all because of this.
We were gifted a glass of wine and given some house-made lemoncello, but the damage was done by the kitchen staff.
I believe this establishment may be what all the reviewers say it is, but I wouldn’t know because I didn’t even get to enjoy my food at all. What was supposed to be the end of a nice night to my boyfriend’s birthday turned unpleasant with a cold, unenjoyable meal which we ended up just packing up and taking home instead.
Once again, I would like to emphasize that the serving staff was kind and always on their feet trying to make sure everyone was doing alright.
When we arrived, we were seated in the patio. They rearranged the space for us, which was fine, and brought the menus. However, it was already surprising that an Italian restaurant doesn’t offer pizzas.
It took around 25 minutes before anyone took our order. They brought us bread with oil and garlic, but it was terrible it tasted like sunflower oil, not olive oil, which is unacceptable for an Italian restaurant.
After an hour and a half, our food still hadn’t arrived. Eventually, everyone received their dishes except me. When my plate finally came, it wasn’t even what I had ordered. They took it back and later brought the correct dish. Unfortunately, I can confidently say these were the worst spaghetti carbonara I have ever eaten. It was basically a pool of salty cream. Whatever state it was in, it made me sick, I spent the night in the bathroom.
Throughout the dinner, one of the waiters kept insisting on offering us more bread with oil, which we repeatedly refused. At the end, when we were all clearly unhappy, he came saying he was bringing desserts. We told him we hadn’t ordered any, but he insisted, quite rudely, that we had. We had to firmly say NO.
To make matters worse, the bill was incorrect. I was charged for a dish I never ordered, and the waiter had to issue a refund.
We were cold the entire time in the patio, the food quality was extremely poor, and the service was chaotic and unpleasant. As a Spanish customer, I find this very disappointing I can’t even imagine how an Italian would feel. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
