They forgot the dressing for my 10 dollar salad. So I paid 10 dollars for loose lettuce tomatoes and onions that felt like burger toppings at best.

My friends said the french fries slapped but unfortunately they were breaded so i couldnt eat them.

Jordan gave us excellent service!! Great food! Excellent aesthetic! This is a place that embodies good vibes. A place that emphasizes Detroit’s spirit! I’ll be sure to come back again! I’ve been here twice and it’s been great every time!

We made reservations for an early dinner but didn’t realize they don’t serve meals till later on. The drinks were amazing. They have Happy Hour so Old Fashioned, Paper Plane and other cocktails were $10. The apps were very nice and the staff were friendly. Nice looking bar!

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Was one of two tables in there. I ordered a “double smash burger” according to their menu. The menu stated it came with crispy fries. My coworker ordered chicken strips and “crispy fries” per the menu. The food came super fast, like too fast, which had me immediately worried.

Both of our fries were gray and still potato texture inside. VERY undercooked, barely edible. My “smash burger” was not smashed at all. It was like frozen GFS patties that ended up like two cooked hockey pucks on a way too big bun.

Also, the soda is served in a plastic cup and your silverware is one of those pre-packaged plasticware sets with a napkin that tears before you get it out of the wrapper. When I asked for extra napkins I was given a couple of those small square bar napkins.

I know its bar food and I know the ownership keeps changing hands, so not sure what I was expecting, but this experience was a “never come back” kind of one. Every single experience was off. Which is sad because its like a 5 minute walk from work that is no longer a lunch or happy hour option.

By the way I found the actual napkins eventually. They were being used as paper towels in the mens bathroom.

Stop by for a quick lunch. Nice place to hangout in downtown. I would say 5 star for service but food is like 2 or 1 star for me. Bartenders were really nice and quick service. But I think food can be better. Fish and chips taste like they pull it out from the freezer at Meijer or Walmart. Maybe I am just picky but I think my picture justified my complaints.
Drinks and vibes are very good here.

Truly had a great first time visit at Anchor Bar. We stopped in for a quick lunch. Staff were speedy, and the food & drinks were reasonably priced and tasty. Really enjoyed Doc’s Fish & Chips. The cod was tasty, crunchy, and fried to perfection. Will definitely stop in again to try more on the menu.

Really cool place, love the lay out! Went here with some work colleagues, was a good time but the service was pretty slow and not to much smiling going on. A big part of going out to me is the experience, unfortunately my favorite part of this place was forsure the set up. I’d go back to this place but next time maybe go straight to the bar grab a drink and wait it out and eat my food right away because the tenders and fries got soggy quick.

We had a party of 5, and walked right in. The bartender didn’t approach us until I walked up to the bar for menus. They didn’t have Jack Daniels, half of the beer taps didn’t work, and they cant change the channel on the TVs (is advertised as a sports bar, mind you) and we ended up waiting 25mins for a pizza- just to be told they were out of pizza dough..got coney dogs which were good but isn’t saying much. The manager who came to tell our table this was nice but clearly burnt out.. we felt like we were on Bar Rescue. Just stay at the hotel bar, trust me.
