I am not from Florida I’m just over here for work so I was stopping by the gas station to get something to quickly eat, but I saw this place on the parking lot, it looked very appetizing. The guy in the truck was helpful but the man who took my order couldn’t understand/speak any English so my order was messed up. All I wanted was 2 sandwiches and 2 fries for my coworker and I but when we had lunch at 3am I opened the bag and it’s just a bowl of meat. It was a disappointment especially when I paid 60$ for it. I would like a refund.

I pulled into this gas station along with a car wash behind. I really needed to give my Subie some attention. I paid $40 to have the guys wash my car. I was in line, told it would be around a half hour. Being a hungry carnivore, I walked behind the car wash and gas station. The place is a tree shaded open space with like six picnic tables with benches scattered among the oak trunks. You know, barbecue style. The kitchen is a food truck. You choose your preferred grilled meat, then give your order to someone at the window. There was one guy running the operation. Ello no peekee inglee. The menu is bilingual. I ordered the combination plate, with a pile of gray, cut up pieces of meat (maybe beef?), a solitary rib and a sausage cut in Hasselback style. Grilled it may have been, but smoked? I didn’t smell smoke anywhere around the place. Not much in the way I was expecting in wood fired food. The gray meat was tough and gristly. The sausage was good, commercial grade. The rib was juicy, fatty and meaty. Maybe because there was a part of a second rib bone attached. None of it was salted, or seasoned at all. Flavored only by the char from the grill. The three pieces of cheese were fine. Melted in my fingers. The platanos maduros (sweet banana) were fine, nothing special. The green sauce was an example of something looking promising, but broke that promise. Flavorless. I was filled up by all of the food, for sure, but paid too much for it.

I don’t have enough words to describe the excellence of the service this team offers. I have frequented this location on several occasions, and it remains consistent, warm, welcoming, cordial, and professional. Johendre & Ryan go above and beyond each time we visit. They remember our favorite dishes and anticipate our needs. As if that weren’t enough, the food is exquisite.
The tequenos are authentic and scrumptious; the burger, with its double combination of wood-fired meat, hits the spot each time; and one of my favorite selections is the 1/4 wood-fired meat with any of the sides. This is definitely a must-try; it’s worth the drive every time.

What a great find! We were passing through Miami Gardens Drive near Aventura and decided to stop at Carne Vara Express. Excellent food and outstanding service from Carolina. The steak was on point, super tender and packed with flavor.
Highly recommend this place!

We stopped for gas and noticed the food truck. I can honestly say the pictures look much better than the food — you can get something better for the same price elsewhere.
Unfortunately, the service was not what we expected. We found a hair in the yuca, and when we asked the waiter to remove it, his attitude was very poor. Mine wasn’t great either by the time we received the check.
They’re very confident about their service, offering only three tip options: 18%, 20%, and 30%. I chose the minimum, and his response was to refuse a bag for my takeout.
Overall: expensive, poor service, and tasteless food
